I cannot post an image unless it is the size of an acorn.

Some image sharing websites are not allowed here. If possible use services like imgur and use "Insert Image" button in the Reply Box Toolbar and select URL or simply [img.] your url [/img.] without the dots in the brackets

Or you can uncheck Retrieve remote file and reference locally before you post a image
