hypothetically, what do you want to see in a picture perfect admin

 

i think the perfect admin doesn't have give attitude and plays on not only one server but visits many servers. @Brandon & @BlackWhite are cool, plus they let u screw with them every once in a while. a couple memes here and there never hurt nobody

Basically saying you want qualities you personally like in an admin, a friend probably.

 

Well, we have all kinds of admins. Some give attitude, some are always nice. Others play on a few servers, some prefer one. If the admins let you screw around, it's probably because it's within the rules. Admins are community role models all. They know the rules, help players, answer questions, and whatnot. There's no real restriction on personality, besides not being an absolute dick. I don't know what this thread is for nor what you seek to gain from it.

I seek to gain everybody's perspectives on what they want to see in a good admin because one day I planned to run for 'office' and wanted to know what they wanted to see that I could change about myself if that's alright with you

That tells you all you need to know. If you think there's something with your personality that you need to change, it's best to privately ask admins or players you've personally played with.

I agree with Delirium. If you're going to run for admin, be yourself. Don't try and Change as long as you aren't disrespectful or abusing powers, not following rules, etc. It's not fun being someone you aren't.

First off this was about admins in general, which I answered. Then you posted about how this is really how you can improve yourself to be admin, which I assume was the original goal and you should've put that first.

There are a lot of admins I haven't seen simply because I don't play all our servers, and asking people who don't know you yields generic advice, which helps you in no way, shape, or form. If you think something's wrong with your attitude, play style, or whatever else, which I'm basing on this:

Then ask the players or admins you've played with the most directly.

This is what we don't like in admins. This kind of disrespectful attitude to players giving their opinions in what you call an "opinionated matter." The main issue you have, Magic, is that you're so toxic. You make players leave. Hell, you used to make me leave when you joined cause I couldn't stand your shit and caused me to remove you on steam. Akuma (Rawr)'s admin app was rejected on a similar premise as to why I feel you would be rejected. You are toxic and simply make players leave. Admins need to make players feel WELCOMED, and not drive players away. This is a key part of becoming an admin.

 

Other areas personally I look for in admins are whether they put the TIME and EFFORT into being an admin. Someone on the servers just to be there and say "look at me I'm an admin" then when players say "I need an admin - I was freekilled" on PB for example, you need to actually investigate the situation. Not just say "ok I'll slay him" and do it. I feel you would be OK in this aspect due to you submitting player complaints which would fall under taking time etc.

 

Like Delirium said - Don't try too hard. Be yourself, don't try to impress. You'll just make yourself look bad and give bad impressions.

 

Don't spam forums for your posts. I already see you put "welcome bruv" or "dude" in a few threads. You surely have seen where those admins apps have ended up...

 

Knowing the rules is obviously a key part any admin should know. Getting a rule mixed up would be ok but constantly telling people and arguing with admins against it isn't what you want to be doing (not saying you are).

 

You need to want admin for the right reasons. Wanting it for the sheer ability to say "I have admin - I have power over you - Bow down to me." Is not the correct reason for wanting admin. You should want it to help the player base and to make the servers a better place. With your attitude? I highly doubt this is what you are wanting it for.

 

My advice, don't apply. You give me vibes that you want it for the wrong reasons. Maybe fix your attitude and do it, but make sure you really do WANT admin.
