Stretch out before AND after each game. You really don't want any cramps or any incidents as you are playing.

 

 

Stay hydrated and pace yourself as well.

Proper footwear is pretty important.

 

If you're playing seriously than figure out what strengths and weaknesses you have, i.e. Good shot=striker good passing=midfielder etc.

 

Dont be a dick and pass. Its a team sport and you cant do everything by yourself

Be sure to work on passing, especially with fast paces. Big problem my team had was that we would lose possession of the ball pretty fast due to mistakes in passing and could never keep control of the ball long enough to find a break in the defense and go for the goal. That + have good team communication and chemistry, much better if you get to know your teammates and get good at working together.

I did Cross-Country and the school's soccer team was small, so they would sometimes have a few of our boys play with them, so I guess running a lot is good?
