Labarr Posted September 22, 2016 Content Count: 3052 Joined: 08/30/09 Status: Offline Share Posted September 22, 2016 HP ENVY Desktop - 750-420 - GeForce GTX 960 But now I'm SUPER confused. I thought this was because of an update. But I went on my smurf to play a smurf game and when I logged on I was getting my normal FPS, not capped at 30. So now I'm confused on what even caused it. I try to launch CS:GO on my main and I get capped at 30 FPS, I go on my smurf and it's normal. Extremely weird, don't know what it is. I also double-checked by logging onto my main, onto my smurf, back onto my main, then onto my smurf again. 1)If you were on a laptop.. I would have (probably) know the issue - since it happened to me. 2)Since your smurf account works - I doubt it has anything to do with windows/drivers. To me, it seems like a video setting inside the game causing this. Can you compare all the video settings between your 2 accounts? Also, make sure fps_max isnt set to 30 Link to comment

Also, make sure fps_max isnt set to 30 As I said, fps_max 0 is in my auto exec and I've never messed around with that command so I don't see why it'd happen. As for comparing settings, I guess I could but I don't think they've changed unless something got reset somehow. Link to comment

Do you have any screenshots or documentation of these windows or updates? Also, did you upgrade to windows 10? Link to comment
Valk Posted September 22, 2016 Content Count: 2730 Joined: 07/28/15 Status: Offline Share Posted September 22, 2016 Already had Windows 10, just a normal update. I'm asking this because I can't play CS:GO now with more than 30 FPS when I used to get 200 and I wanted to see if deleting the older version would help. I've been having this same problem I just connect to an SG server and it gos back to normal. Link to comment
Cam Posted September 22, 2016 Content Count: 1193 Joined: 06/28/16 Status: Offline Share Posted September 22, 2016 Happened to me on my computer after updating too. It also took 10 times longer to get into games. Anyway, go into steam, sign out, restart your computer, let it boot up, give it a minute and then sign back in. Let me know if that helps, it worked for me. Link to comment

But with what you said about how it would work on your smurf, I think it''s just because of how you exited the game and went back in, in a short amount of time, which usually happens to me on the second launch it doesn't cap at 30fps. I heard it started with a certain windows 10 update is what I heard around most, but tabbing out and tabbing back in tends to work pretty well for the most part. Link to comment

Nevermind @Luke posted it before I did. Sorry. With it sticking at 30fps, I remember someone having the exact same issue a day or so ago on cs, it was Wolf (not Wolfee) I think honestly can't remember. Few people on reddit and elsewhere are saying this worked: http://www.tomshardware.co.uk/forum/id-3142772/windows-update-csgo-fps-issues.html I finally got around to trying this and it seemed to have worked. I restarted my game a couple times just to make sure as well. I'll also see the next time I restart my computer if it's still all good. Thanks a ton. 3 Link to comment
