Don't know the details. @SL4DE explained it a while ago, forgot what it was exactly Link to comment

SpikedRocker Posted October 27, 2016 Content Count: 6242 Joined: 04/13/08 Status: Offline Share Posted October 27, 2016 Ok, I'll try to be nice about this. Yes the main/public channels are set up this way, but not private channels. The funny thing is it was never our intention to have more people using private channels than the public ones. That is why the private channels that get created are temporary. Honestly, I didn't know that all public channels are setup that way and they shouldn't. I am half tempted to fix that oversight. (With the server moves I am overseeing currently, it will be fixed when I do TeamSpeak). Now for me to brutally honest here, (I am reminded to explicitly state that this is only my opinion and no one else in management as people tend to think I always speak for the whole board) if you are able to determine the quality of the codec without looking you got the hearing of a fucking bat. I feel pretty confident in a blind test, no one would be able to tell the difference in audio quality. If you can, I'd almost guess 9 out of 10 its on the users end and not ours. Let me be obvious here and say its TS, we aren't operating a fucking state of the art movie theater with dolby HD 10 channel surround sound. So since there really isn't too much difference in the audio quality that everyday normal people are going to care about, we decided not to go out of our way to make private channels special. Like I said, the normal channels actually should not have been set up that way and that will be fixed when I move TeamSpeak over on to our dedicated server. That was an oversight on our part. 1 Link to comment
