I'm curious of what you guys know and think about the differences between different operating systems. I'm currently running Windows 8.1 64bit, and it's alright, I upgraded to 10 for a few days, had a shit ton of hardware compatibility problems, and went back to 8.1.

Windows XP

but since that's too old

Windows 7

Doesn't have as much extra crap as windows 10, is more compatible with older games, plus it's also just more familiar to me since I grew up with windows xp

Personally I run 10 and love it but from what I've read it's pretty hit or miss with some rigs. I haven't had a single problem with 10 and was pretty confused hearing all the backlash, but some people have trouble even booting up with it. It's weird.

It's funny you should say that because I've had the exact opposite experience. As someone who plays a lot of older games I have found 10 to perform waaaaay better and have far less problems. There are actually some games I have that refuse to work on 7 but play like magic on 10.

^ Same...

Always used win 7 until 9-10 months ago, bought my new computer and it had win 10 on it.

Yes it takes some time to get used to but in the end i don't see anything bad from it.

Honestly don't know why there's so much hate about it lol.

But then again I'm a noob when it comes to computers so I might be wrong.

I'll admit there are a lot of things you need to enable and disable in windows 10 to get some of the bullshit out of the way, but it's not too bad and once that's done it's in my opinion the best version of windows to date.

Another thing to consider is that wether we like it or not, Microsoft is trying very hard to get people to switch to Windows 10. This is evident from their free Windows 10 upgrade program and the lack of support for Microsoft PC games on anything other then Windows 10. I also recall the newest Direct X will only be for Windows 10? Maybe?

Either way, Windows 10 is inevitably the future, especially for gaming.
