I was just wonder if a moderator rank was even in discussion and/or considered. I was thinking that they would be able to kick and swap players also maybe be able to ban for a hour. The requirements I think are good are below.

You must have a forum account.

Read and agree to the Admin Rules.

Be part of the forums for 3 months and have a minimum of 50 posts.

Show the community that you possess good qualities of an mod.

Submit an mod application and put forth a decent effort on it

Members will have the opportunity to vote on your application which will take place for one week.

As long as you have no recent bans, no one has anything negative to say about you, and you receive generally positive feedback based on members' experiences with you, you'll likely be approved.

Once a Board of Director (BD) posts "Approved" he will contact you and your admin will be set up on all of our gaming servers.

Thanks for reading!

Previous suggestions were made, and similar programs were tried during the years (moderator forum rank, SG-A,..) where you didn't get the full set of powers and it always came to the same conclusion:

"If they can be trusted with that, why not with admin?"

Apply for admin if you want to help out on the servers :)

This has actually been discussed a few times before from what I remember. Here's one from a while back when Dom suggested it:

http://www.steam-gamers.net/forum/showthread.php?t=65055&highlight=moderator+rank

and a few other similar one's I've seen:

http://www.steam-gamers.net/forum/showthread.php?t=70610

http://www.steam-gamers.net/forum/showthread.php?t=69272

Though I wasn't here at the time there used to be a variation to what you just brought up and it really didn't go as well as people may have hoped.

As for CoAdmining, we did an admin apprentice program way back in the day before I even joined. An older fag could better explain it to you, but it didn't work at all (to say the least). And it really isn't needed.

I just realised that this quote is basically what I just said so I repeated myself, but you get the point xd

Though I respect co-admin isn't what you're suggesting there is a similar concept behind it and the likely answer would be no unless there was truly a different way to approach this than we've seen before.

I personally don't like the idea of having this, I can see the benefits that this could potentially bring about but it really doesn't seem too necessary. We have a variation of ranks and the admins should be able to cover the job that you're saying. I get that admins aren't always available, but if someone's been here for three months and wants that kind of power, they may aswell go for admin to be able to assist even further.

OK thank you I just think it's hard to get to the 100 posts.

Its really not though. There's plenty of different on going discussion to participate it. With the 3 month requirement, you essentially just need to have 33 posts a month, or almost one post a day. Just browse the forums from time to time and participate in some discussions. Now, this doesn't mean spam posts, but we have plenty of casual/normal discussions that you can easily post in.

We always appreciate people that don't spam, so far I believe you've done well there ;)

To me, during a three month time span (or longer) it isn't too hard to get 100 posts. With the various few threads created each day and the 'off topic' threads that are less community based such as 'What are you listening to?' I think you can get there easily whilst still posting with legitimate reason. We'd like our admins to be active within the community and actively trying to help better our community as well as the servers themselves. To me this includes discussions, bringing your own opinion to various suggestions, map requests and other topics as well as your own. Then there's of course the few threads where you can pop in a song into the what are you listening to thread, though no posts should really be made with the though 'I'm doing this for the number of posts', they should be with reason because you want to contribute. (the contribute part kinda only applies to some threads xd)

I understand if you're someone that reads threads but never feels like there's much to say and so doesn't, I find myself like that sometimes. However I assure you that if you try to actively participate in forum discussions, the post limitations on admin applications will not be an issue at all.

Remember, post count is one of the smallest parts of becoming an admin, it is much harder to show your dedication and maturity to other admins and regulars to get the votes to become an admin in the end :)

tl;dr: Goku's post
