Promotions!

Hello everyone,

 

If you haven't been able to tell, I have cut my leave of absence a bit early. I planned on taking a month or two off, but unfortunately with the amount of work needed to be done around here, that just isn't feasible. So for now, looks like a week will do. Kudos to SpikedRocker for wearing my shoes for the week and seeing how 'fun' it is.

 

Moving on, we've got some promotions we'd like to get going!

 

To Community Advisor, we are promoting Moo Moo Viking & Mr. Trololo! Moo Moo has been here an exceptionally long time, and we are more than eager to give him the opportunity to prove what he can do at the CA rank. Mr. Trololo has also expressed interest and has shown his activity and dedication to be enough to get noticed by us in a positive way. Their new duties include:

 

 

• Advise the higher staff on important decisions
  
• Handling player complaints and issuing bans
  
• Moderation of the forum
  
• Give awards to members on request
  
• Send group invitations to members on request
  
• Keep servers clean from rule breakers
  
• Issue warnings/kicks/bans
  
• Screenshot/demo proof for permanent bans
  
• Request permanent bans via on the forum
  
• Post in-game server problems on the forum
  
• Help in any way to make the servers fun
  

 

To the rank of Administrative Officer, we are promoting Delirium and Leon Mordecai! Both have shown hard work and dedication over months of time, and we have nothing but the highest confidence these two will do great things as higher ups. Their new duties include:

 

 

• Verify that servers are operational
  
• Reboot dead/lagged servers
  
• Manage player bans/appeals
  
• Assist in training new admins
  
• Handle admin complaints
  
• Handle disputes among fellow admins
  
• Monitor the Teamspeak 3 server
  
• Grant access rights to Teamspeak 3
  
• Search for new maps for all servers
  
• Upload maps to the servers and fast downloads site
  
• Edit map lists & rotations
  
• Issue permanent bans to players via request from SA's
  
• Handle reported posts on the forum
  

 

 

At this point, I'd like to take the time to recognize a BD who has been around for awhile and has done a considerable amount of work here. Revenga is, unfortunately, having to focus more on real life. As much as we want to keep him as a BD, we understand that real life always comes first. Thankfully, Revenga will be sticking around as a Technical Administrator. We are glad to be keeping him around the community, and he deserves our utmost appreciation and recognition for the amount of dedication and hard work he has put into this place. He started out as a BD in a very hard time for SG, and he was part of the crew that helped turn this place around. His duties remain the same, for the most part, but specifically:

 

 

• Fix technical issues that arise day to day (servers/site)
  
• Research/manage mods, scripts, and plugins to improve our servers
  
• Develop solutions to improve our servers/mods performance
  
• Discover and fix exploits against our servers/site
  
• Assist in data backup operations for the community's data
  
• Assist AO's when problems arise or others are on vacation
  

 

Now, if my math is correct, it looks like we have two slots to fill for the Board of Directors. We have spent great time and discussion on this subject, and we have decided to promote Prez! He has been around the community forever, has spent ample time as a higher up, and has our confidence that he will do an amazing job. His new duties include:

 

 

• Support/build/fix servers
  
• Approve admin applications
  
• Set up new Admin and Subscriber access
  
• Issue admin warnings/punishments
  
• Keep the community updated of any changes
  
• Final say in all admin disputes
  
• Plan for growth (website/servers)
  
• Support forum/plugins/logos
  
• Support Teamspeak 3 channels/admins
  
• Grant access rights to Teamspeak 3
  
• Review and implement community suggestions
  
• Promote/demote server admins
  
• Manage public relations/marketing/events
  
• Be a role model to all admins/setting by example
  
• Collect donations, manage subscriptions, and pay the bills
  
• Manage the website, forums, and bansite
  
• Manage AO staffing and responsibilities
  
• ... anything else that needs to be done
