Lucid Posted March 2, 2017 Content Count: 2284 Joined: 09/27/09 Status: Offline Share Posted March 2, 2017 Hi all, After taking quite a long break from Steamgamers I decided to come back to the website I once loved and relished and tried to access steamgamers.com instead of the new steam-gamers.net url. Is there anyway to remove the old site since it's no longer being updated or used? It confused me in thinking that the community had died out in 2015 and I honestly thought steam-gamers.net was going to be a different site leading to a different community. It's not so much a necessity but to me as a returning user from 2009 I was a bit confused. More quality of life IMO. Would there be anyway to post an announcement on steamgamers.com saying everything had migrated to steam-gamers.net? I know everyone that's already involved in the community already knows this since they probably check the updates often, but I hadn't checked the updates in years and didn't know what was what. Thanks. Link to comment

We made the switch because Steam-Gamers.net is now fully owned by the staff (Caution) instead of someone else (if you remember, it was Amit who then sold the site to Ryan). We had messages on the old forum about the switch but we don't have the ability to just remove the old website. @Caution can clarify further 1 Link to comment

Oh okay. I guess if it was possible to go back and edit the main page to say that we transferred, that would help. It still shows up for me though. Are you signed in on the other website? Maybe that is causing it to show up... Link to comment

That's actually good to know it's privately owned now! Mine used to be like that but now the forum is gone and all I can see is a blank chatbox. +1 1 Link to comment

The only people from our side that might have access would be Caution or Spiked, but it's doubtful since we moved over a year ago. Not a whole lot we can do for that unfortunately unless they have the access! 1 Link to comment
Caution Posted March 2, 2017 Content Count: 11501 Joined: 10/19/08 Status: Offline Share Posted March 2, 2017 We don't have any access, which is exactly why we moved in the first place. Ryan is a douchebag who refused to give us any access to do anything. If someone got locked out of their account, we got hacked, etc., we wouldn't be able to do anything about it. 'Board of Director' was nothing but a red name with the ability to do jack shit on the forums. I got the fuck away from Ryan and now own everything associated with Steam-Gamers. 6 Link to comment
SpikedRocker Posted March 2, 2017 Content Count: 6242 Joined: 04/13/08 Status: Offline Share Posted March 2, 2017 Yeah we tried to make it obvious about the move but shortly after we left the guy who owns that stuff undid a lot of the work I did in trying to lessen the confusion. Whats funny is that guy believes he can make money off it. 8 Link to comment
