Ratting people out in game through mic or chat, something that we ca actually do something about unlike ghosting bc everyone sees it happening. this is honestly just as bad as ghosting but is still allowed? I understand everyone doesnt rebel and they want lrs or whatever, but that shouldnt mean they give away everyones position.

There is really nothing wrong about "snitching" imo seeing as A) you can't exactly tell the CT where they are, seeing as their may be multiple floors or they may be hiding behind corners, etc. and B) The T rebelling is going to run into the CT eventually, whether the CT comes for him or he goes for the CT that interaction is bound to happen. I dont see anything wrong in speeding it up.

Snitching fits right with PB, as it is a role play aspect of a "role play mod" (source: Servers tab and under the Jail Break tab).

Not to mention, the FAQs state that it's allowed but it will be frowned upon, so I don't see the point in taking it out unless something really severe happens that requires us to restrict snitching entirely.

Taken right from the Jail Break FAQs thread.

  • Q- Can Ts snitch on other Ts?
  • A-
While I highly discourage Ts from doing so, there is no rule in place on Ts telling CTs where the other Ts are.

He wasn't asking if it's against the rules or not, he was trying to express his opinion that it should be though.

On topic, I would not be against restricting T's from ratting. I think it's pretty scummy, especially considering a large number of the T's who rat out their teammates are the ones who only follow orders and don't participate in death games or rebel therefore dragging out the rounds. If we don't allow T's to give orders then, why do we allow T's to snitch on their teammates? Either one is just as much of an annoyance as the other.

Agree with what he said but honestly I'm pretty conflicted on this.

We can't let CT's sit at the bottom of moon jail water to team kill but we let Prisoners snitch their teammates out for no reason? If someone snitches and it ends in the death of their teammate then why isn't that a teamkill? Obviously the guy getting snitched on still has a chance but it can really ruin his element of surprise. I understand that it's a role playing type server but most of the time it's not like the people snitching are getting anything out of it but mostly just being fucking dickheads.

On the other hand.

The thing that honestly makes me almost not want it as a rule is that Prisoners win almost every round or it ends in round draw. The only time I ever see the CTs take control is when someone like me and other regs join CT & drop a 50 bomb. We've been trying to give CT's some more power on the servers and I feel like this might be an unnecessary rule change due to how rarely it actually happens per map & in part removes a tool from the CTs kit.

I'm not completely sure how I feel about this.
