A king is about to execute a prisoner for treason. He decides to make it a grand show and promote himself a fair king. he gives the prisoner a chance to escape death, by placing two different coloured marbles in a box and if the prisoner chooses the black marble, he will be killed, if he chooses the blue one, he will be spared. A day before the show the prisoner overhears the king telling the executioner that he will place two black marbles in, so the prisoner will die. On the day of his execution and the villages watches in anticipation. The room is sealed, no way in or out of it and the prisoner MUST choose one. He knows they are both black and whatever he chooses he will die....Yet, somehow, the prisoner manages to escape death...how?

 

3 men walk into a sauna, one with a book, one with a thermos and one with a cd player. the steam rises and you cannot see anything in the room. Suddenly there is a scream and the steam clears, a man is found dead on the ground with a stab wound to the heart. The police are called to investigate and find no knife, the men have not left so they cannot leave the weapon somewhere. And there was no way IN our OUT of that sauna, how did the man die?

This guy living on the 20th floor in an apartment building got up early each morning to go to work in a downtown store. He always went into the elevator on the 20th floor and rode down to the entrance (1st floor). When he came home he always rode the elevator from the entrance and up to the 8th floor. He walked out of the elevator and walked the stairs up to his apartment on the 20th floor.

 

Why doesn't he take the elevator all the way up to his apartment?

Hes too small to reach the button and it rained so he brought an umbrella!

He chooses 1 box and doesn't open it. The other box is opened to reveal a black marble meaning the box that the prisoner chose contains the blue marble.

Because he wanted to lose weight and you burn more calories walking up stairs than walking down them so that's why he didn't walk down them in the mornings. He got off at the eigth floor because he couldn't walk up the whole way because he didn't have enough stamina. Maybe he was a smoker or something.

Thats quite clever but from what I see there is only one box.

 

You could of said (if there is only one box) "he said that he picks out one and doesn't reveal it. He then shows the other one and its black meaning his one must be blue?
