Poobah Posted May 6, 2017 Content Count: 418 Joined: 01/15/17 Status: Offline Share Posted May 6, 2017 Figured this best fits in suggestions. So the recent rule about not banning people off of one RDM is fine and all but I feel like some of the smarter griefers are going to start taking advantage of this. There was also the recent addition of the admin tool that would issue an extend mute or gag on people and would carry over on maps or even if they left. I don't think I've seen it recently so maybe it got removed, but if it's still there could it be used the same way with slaying? If an rdmer is set to be slayed and leaves they don't get slayed after rejoining (to my knowledge). Would it be possible to have the slays saved, probably like a maximum of like 1 week, so when you are set to be slayed, leave, and rejoin at a later time you are slayed on start of a new round? Yeah, it's not common, but I have seen it probably 2-3 times so far. That's an interesting idea, but I'm not sure how practical/implementable it is. Honestly I've just resigned myself to thinking "Well, I guess if they do it again or two more times I can do something about it." But then after a few days I usually forget the name of the person who did it anyways, so yeah. Link to comment
frank the rabbit Posted May 6, 2017 Content Count: 330 Joined: 02/26/09 Status: Offline Share Posted May 6, 2017 Now from my experience on ttt with this rule is as soon as someone points that rule out they will rdm and leave then rejoin under a different name. I try to catch it by looking at steam I'd shut some have alt accounts that they just switch between. Link to comment
Caution Posted May 6, 2017 Content Count: 11501 Joined: 10/19/08 Status: Offline Share Posted May 6, 2017 I don't understand when people say "this new rule" to things that really aren't. It was absolutely never okay and never allowed for admins to issue immediate bans in minor RDM / freekill situations just because they left. It's a typical 'give him an inch and he'll take a mile' situation. Obviously someone intentionally RDMing, leaving, and rejoining with a different name just to RDM again is an obvious griefer and can be punished as such. The problem is when admins become ban-happy because someone doesn't want to sit out a slay. It's being blown a bit out of proportion. As far as this suggestion, it's really not practical. All Ts Posted May 6, 2017 Content Count: 4441 Joined: 05/28/16 Status: Offline Share Posted May 6, 2017 I find it incredibly hard to believe that a loosely known guideline set for SA+ to follow is being cited by people when they RDM and Leave. Link to comment

Yeah, I don't see how they would say anything after they DC either, good point. And I haven't had them say it before they left either. I'm not sure anyone was trying to say that they were. I've never seen someone rdm, leave, then come back. But I have seen people just wait until they want to leave then rdm and dc. Either way, I already said I didn't know if the OT of this thread was practical so yeah, I don't see a reason to get into another discussion about rdming and leaving. 1 Link to comment
