Just curious because I get group invites all the time. I don't expect you to name the groups, frankly I don't care about that. Is it very obvious that these are harassment groups? Like if I check my invites I should be able to spot it right?

Yes, they will be evident. With further research, I could see they had malicious intent from just the group names. The only way you wouldn't be able to know what these groups were about is if you had no idea who the affected people were.

 

 

If you still have doubts, just be wary of what you accept and talk to a higher up if needed to.

Gonna agree on this. I 100% agree that if you are leaking private info you should be hung by your pecker, but calling someone names on the fucking internet being a crime? That's absurd. Just turn the shit off. We have people running people over, bombing people, shooting people and you wanna get your feelings hurt because some 12 year old calls you gay on the internet and call it a crime? GTFO and grow some testicles. This might sound harsh but I was raised to be a man not a pussy.

Its a different world than it used to be. Back in the day, you couldn't hide behind a screen name when you try to bully someone. Back in the day you could confront the person saying that shit. Social media has also changed the game. Small things get turned into big things by going "viral".

 

I get what both of you are saying, however, the examples you give are minor examples that sometimes escalate further into shit that just isn't necessary or cool. That's where we've drawn the line. No one wants to be around a toxic environment and we do not want to breed or harbor that kind of stuff. Things just go to far and is too personal sometimes and we definitely want to put a stop to it before it goes to a place where we have regrets.

Anyways, some of you are taking this a bit in the wrong direction - we are not saying you all need to get along with each other or even be nice to each other all the time. We realize not everyone will get along with everyone, which is fine. We are simply saying don't go overboard with harassment and don't post personal shit. We don't really care about 'name-calling', and to say we do would be putting words in our mouth. The issue is when it gets dragged out publicly and looks ridiculous or when someone finally crosses that line of just flat-out unacceptable behavior. We aren't here to be your babysitters, but there is a eventually a line we have to draw so this place doesn't turn into a cesspool. Like it or not, if we let everybody do / say whatever the fuck they want, this place would not last because people would eventually get tired of it.

 

I think the point has been made, so I'm gonna lock this thread.

To clarify:

 

Just because YOU are offended by something does not make it harassment. I am on vacation and it's absolutely ridiculous I get messaged about people getting offended over a meme of respecting women in 2017. Our harassment rules are targeted towards REAL harassment - not stupid bullshit like this. IE someone continuously messaging you after being asked not to, posting personal info, etc.

Apparently a few people, including an admin, have found it funny that they caused so much needless drama over stupid bullshit that I posted above. While I could personally give a shit less if you act like an idiot in the servers and being a douchebag isn't against any SG rules (unfortunately), wasting my time is an extreme annoyance and I won't tolerate it. The fact that an AO has to message me about an admin acting up in the server over some self-caused stupid bullshit is ridiculous, and everyone associated with that has pretty much just shot themselves in the foot. Waste my time and I'll waste yours.
