I was thinking after I saw Euro's thread in spam central that we actually should have an advice section on the forum specifically used for members here seeking help in any problem life throws at them.

I've made a few threads before about problems that occurred and both times I never really was sure whether to post in Off-Topic or Spam Central. Having an advice section would eliminate that issue, keep those other two sections a little more lighthearted, and it would give members here am excellent chance to find help or give help to other members here.

Worth considering, because I know I've seen posts here seeking help and to have a spot specifically for that would make helping much easier.

this is a gaming community not a therapy session. if you need advice then i think you should seek professional help or just use google to find websites for help.

It doesn't have to specifically be something a therapist could help, but we've all dealt with things and we could help each other. Obviously if I'm feeling suicidal, seeing a doctor would be the much better option, but there's a lot we could help each other with here.

Steam-Gamers advice and questions is about 10 times worse than Yahoo answers sometimes, but genuinely there are some people here who are worth listening to & there are also those among our community who are in dire need of advice & help. Some of the threads where people are looking for help it's absolutely the dumbest shit on the planet, but genuinely I think we should all stop discouraging people from coming to the forums for help. Sure, it's a gaming community but I think so many of you underestimate how much SG means to some people & that their support/opportunities in real-life are either terrible or their life is awful outside of SG. Maybe I'm wrong in saying this, but I feel like if not an advice section then maybe we just continue allowing people to post their questions in Off-Topic and not completely lambaste them for asking a legitimate question. We have so many people from all walks of life, military, correctional officers, nurses, so the knowledge here at SG is super plentiful and diverse.

Most of the legit questions I've seen people ask get good answers, and I really encourage people to not use the "but this community is just for games" argument because I'm willing to bet that most of you at one point reached out to a friend that you met here at SG for help with something. I'm of the opinion if you're genuinely looking for people to help you TeamSpeak is always the best option as most of the people who go on there are pretty chill.

Anyway, I'm not really all for the "advice" section as most of it can be stuck into Fitness, Off-Topic, Spam Central, Modding, Tech Talk etc.. but I felt this needed to be said as people were going to nail this idea to the cross.

Some of us probably went through what they are going through right now and know how to handle it or experience it before. Like how I was talking to Labarr earlier today that he should sell that car of his before he lose more money trying to fix it since he kept on finding more shit to fix after the next.

Asking people on the internet (let alone a gaming community) is not a smart idea. People are assholes, and even bigger assholes on the internet. If anything, it will only make the issue worse by having people post up useless info or unfunny jokes/memes (mostly unfunny memes or jokes) regarding what ever your inquiry would be. Ask your parents, grandparents or if you are still in school, your guidance counselor for help with issues that can be considered touchy. Thats my opinion anyways, but im also an asshole.

Exactly, issues like that or advice to a younger member starting a job. And it could be monitored better like admin applications to prevent troll responses.

If they meme or joke too much on the thread then they can have their rights to view or post comments on it then. Easy and simple as that if they make an advice section for it.
