FLuiD Posted July 23, 2017 Content Count: 1083 Joined: 12/23/15 Status: Offline Share Posted July 23, 2017 I see the timed awards as cool and achievable for a player to get all of them, but think going overboard on them is pretty unnecessary and silly. It's not even like it's something difficult to make, its just a crazy amount of time to put into a single server and for a normal person it is completely unobtainable. I'm one of PB's most active players and I only have 1648 hours on CS:GO, a 50 day award is roughly 75% of the entire time I've spent on CS:GO. If you manage 1200 hours on our servers we should mail them a coloring book and tell them to go the fuck outside. This argument is completely ridiculous. The entire point of these time achievements is to award players for returning to our servers time and time again. We should be extremely grateful to have such active players, not telling them they have no life and they to go outside lol. You say for normal people it is completely unobtainable, and quite frankly 30 days is in that same ballpark. 720 hours (30 days) is insane for a single server as well but we have the award because we appreciate they dedicate so much time to SG. In addition to this, 1648 hours is 70 DAYS ON ONE GAME. Again, that is an absurd amount of time to play a game for, and what if they just so happened to play the game for a very select few servers and never play comp? Someone with your game time could easily rack up 15 days on a couple servers and maybe even a 30 day award if that server is the majority of their play time. Who are you to tell someone where to spend there time? The problem with your argument is that it is 100% relative/subjective. What about people who choose to spend their time around music, collecting something, developing, or literally any other hobby. You don't think they have ridiculous amounts of time in those areas of their life? If someone just so happens to put that time into gaming and they are a PC enthusiast then good for them. I mean shit, do you not spend a large portion of your time on SG, on the computer? Someone who wasn't into technology would call you ridiculous for how much time you spend on the internet and talking to people you have never met in real life. Who are you to dictate where they spend their time? If there are literally no downsides what's the problem? Again, it being "overboard" is completely relative to YOU. We should happily thank players for choosing to spend an above and beyond amount of time on SG. You also make the argument that we should have awards that are achievable by most people, in which case what would be the point of having the achievements if most people can obtain it? It makes the award completely weightless if everyone has it. 6 Link to comment

I personally think it's way too much, but the point isn't really what about I think (you're completely right)- it's an incentive to other players and a reward to our crazily dedicated players who have either been here for an extremely long time or just play like crazy. If you guys would like me to make something, I'm down. 2 Link to comment

I was not shaming anyone for playing the amount they play on my previous post (I play a lot myself), it was just a statement that could be made to a person with an award like this. I agree that we there should always be a way to award a player for their respected hours on our servers but I just feel that forum awards aren't really getting the recognition that maybe other things that can be award straight to your account for that server. If there was a model that a player wore because of their hours put into the game that would be awesome because it would have a greater affect on others who play with that person to play more to maybe one day reach that model. The model concept is just an idea but it doesn't have to be that, it could simply be something a normal player does not have that an overachiever does have that can signify his dedication. Something that a regular player cannot buy off of the store, something unique that can be recognized as special by all. Link to comment

As for the model, I was actually thinking the same thing as a 50 day reward instead of the forum award. I was even going to suggest it but the only problem is that I think in order for that to happen, the AO's would have to make a completely new rank on the servers for players with 50+ days so they can wear it in game (don't quote me on that), and then they also have to add an additional item to the shop which the higher ups have been resistant to in the past (increased download size). Greggy G Posted July 23, 2017 Content Count: 1656 Joined: 04/17/17 Status: Offline Share Posted July 23, 2017 I don't think that that would actually be an issue @FLuiD With the rate we have now of people reaching 50 days on a particular server we can have a new assignment for AOs to give out these model reward after reaching 50 day milestone. The AOs can individually give out these model awards for their specific server that they maintain because honestly we do not have a lot of people over or reaching the 50 day award compared to the 30 or even 15 day award. Obviously I do not know the extend of what powers AOs hold but I feel that if this is something in their range then it wouldn't be a hard task to deal with or at least as of now it doesn't seem to be a hard task. Any input if this is manageable? @Leon Mordecai @Delirium @Nimmy @Wawa @Mad Dogg (I did @ to at least one AO maintaining their seperate server) Link to comment

Wawa Posted July 23, 2017 Content Count: 3740 Joined: 05/21/12 Status: Offline Share Posted July 23, 2017 Instead of making a whole round of 50+ day server time awards for each server, why not just make a general one for being active on a server for that much time since 50 days is an achievement in itself? We can call it 50 days [ 50! ] or we can call it Dedicated Gamer [ DG ] or my favorite suggestion, we can call it Hellyeah Gamer [ Yee ] (get on this @Post ) Also, don't think the model suggestion will ever happen, FluiD pretty much touched upon why. 4 Link to comment

I like this idea actually. "You have accumulated 50 days on one of our servers!" 1 Link to comment
