If you have reason to believe that the person shooting at you is RDMing though, you don't HAVE to shoot them back and lose karma. Link to comment

If you take karma that serious to where you don't want to lose karma, this is your best option. Playing for just karma removes an element of the game imo. Many of my favorite moments came from unintentional team-killing. However, Karma offers an incentive for people to play, so if someone is trying to continuously rdm you or is rdming you, let an online admin know. Link to comment

Honestly it shouldn't be that much of a problem, ttt is about a lot more than just gaining best possible karma, and you should be easily gaining more karma than losing if you play the game properly. The karma was implemented to reward those playing properly while punishing people who join only to ruin the game for others and that's exactly what it's doing right now. It's nice to see people aiming for the max karma, but it shouldn't be taken too seriously. In the end you don't really benefit from reaching the max karma, and it will be reset every couple of months anyway. Link to comment
