Warning shot with shotguns

This is a retarded question but i wanna ask for clarification. Can u warning shot with shotguns? I see cts on like Spy v Spy and other maps that warning shot with shotguns. i think it isnt allowed as it fires multiple shots and it wouldnt count as a singular shot. Also if they "warning shot" with it at close range it will mostly kill them

If they happen to kill them then they are required to slay if it was the first warning shot.

That's technically incorrect. It's a single shot, but it releases a plethora of buckshot that's loaded in the shell.
