The gameme stats were removed from the server so people wouldn't farm points and become zombie on purpose. This isn't because people die on purpose or farm points like that, but people are just too worried about their points.

On alot of maps these days there's bossfights and traps and other ways to "suicide" and when alot of people don't wanna lose points we can't play those maps because the majority of the server only cares about points and wanna farm those on maps like icecap or just very easy maps in general. You can call me a tryhard or whatever u want but I also see alot of the regulars getting interest in these "tryhard" maps.

Even tho you get points for every 4k damage to zombies I don't see more people defending, it's just making more doorhug so they don't die and can get those points from beating the map.

No offense to @AntiTeal it's a really nice plugin but it just doesn't work for the current SG imo.

Here's my Opinion, skillbot is a really nice plugin IMO, It works well and you actually need to play a lot to earn points. But doorhuggers will always be a problem, no matter what you do, you can add plenty of things to reward the player for defending, but it won't stop everyone from doorhugging.

Also from my point of view this is what i think.

I can defend and we win 50-100 points or I don't defend and we get 0 points and we waste our time.

The people will eventually realize that they can't beat the map by doorhugging. Plus I don't really see people farming points on icecap Frid since it only gives you about 10 points per win which is nothing. Most "easy" maps only give you 10 points per win, compared to the 100 points per win on Santa,Tilex, etc. Which is why some people enjoy them and actually try to beat them

I don't really mind the rank plugin, but there are some quirks. Minor, really... I'd like to see which perks I can instantly equip instead of checking each and every one of them, only to find out - sorry too big of a noob for this skin etc. (What I mean is draw the items as disabled instead of as "categories" leading to equip menu).

Eventually, more and more people will start getting higher ranks, essentially resulting in a battle between who is the leader (since you can select yourself as a leader, which is a bad perk imo).

On top of that, eventually everyone will have the same stuff, making the top tier ranks not so special anymore and if it was my plugin I'd introduce seasons like in overwatch, where your score gets saved to view later, but every season it's reset and you start over, possibly getting some kind of reward depending on your rank at the end of the season.

Being someone who looks at the gameme stats often, the icecap era is long over. If you look at the gamme tracker. It tells you what maps were most frequently played for the past week. For the past two weeks i've seen tilex, pizzatime, frozen temple and surf maps. (All of these maps make up about 1/4 of all the playtime on ze for the past two weeks). I've havent seen icecap or dangerous waters ever appear on that list. Also skillbot gives a good incentive for people not to play on icecap. Since players know it gives less points for a win. (And winning on icecap really depends on the tram and from my experience only win about 3 times on average each time the map gets played).

Also [opinion based] I believe its too quick to immediatly ask to remove it. Its only been half a month and summer is about to end soon thats not enough time to see whether or not skillbot is generally good or bad. I'd say wait until about late september before deciding whether or not to remove it since we get to see how does skillbot effect the server during the school year.

Anyways I feel skillbot is overall good. Having problems like point whores, are problems that immediatly come whenever we add something new to the server (remember the problems that came up with the bhop nerf, modifying the bhop nerf, reducing the knockback, or when the negev became a laser). You just need to give it time and assess whether or not the problems that come with the plugin are too serious that overall it will destroy the server or can be overlooked since it does more good to the server.

Tldr;

I think its too early to decide to get rid of skillbot

Icecap is on the decline, tilex is on the rise.

Problems always come when something new comes onto the server.

The AOs have been changing the plugin since day 1, they'll keep fixing it if neccessary.

GameMe stats has never been removed. It's always been active but is just not displayed on the server itself anymore due to lag/sync issues - neither do people gain anything by turning into a zombie with the current Skillbot plugin, which happens to be the case with GameMe. To be honest, I've never seen so many tryhard being played nowadays ever since this rank plugin was implemented. I barely see icecap or any other similiar maps being played the last couple of weeks. I also don't see the logic in people doorhugging because they're afraid to die. Zombies infecting humans doesn't make them lose any points as you only lose points when you die by the 'world', so wouldn't that motivate them to defend and gain points instead of hugging the door and not gain anything?

These are also the things I've noticed and would like to see being changed somewhere in the future. Currently you need to go through every rank to see what perks are available to you, yeah perhaps we're a bit lazy but it would make things more easier if it's done the way Punky described.

Also agree with pretty much everything @diryathing said. Skillbot will most likely still be tweaked/changed in the future as it's still in early phase and could still use some adjustements here and there, which is why I agree that it's currently too early to come to a conclusion to say that this plugin doesn't work for us and should be removed.
