Thomson Posted August 11, 2017 Content Count: 561 Joined: 01/31/12 Status: Offline Share Posted August 11, 2017 It's been nearly a month since the introduction of our SkillBot plugin and I feel like this plugin has made our playerbase more focused on completing the more difficult maps. While I really like the drive this provides for the players, it has made our players too reliant on 'farming' a map whenever they get the chance. One thing I've noticed is how players continuously play a map to 'farm points' which makes rising up the ranks really easy and in my opinion defeats the purpose of the plugin. I've heard many players on the server say "Don't RTV, let's farm this map for points instead" and other various statements similar to this one. If possible, I feel like reducing the amount of points gained after the first victory is reduced to 10/20% of the normal victory value. I believe this'll reduce the amount of players who play a map solely for the points and prevents players from 'farming points'. Another thing I've noticed is players aren't intentionally getting themselves infected as often. The system we have right now where the zombies don't get points when infecting humans is good since they can't really 'farm points'. Unlike with GameME where zombies gain points whenever they infect humans. 3 Link to comment

The idea I've proposed to him is to disable Skillbot for the first 30-60 seconds so that there are no points to be gained during that time (not by damage, not by playtime, nor by wins). They can still spawn kill the first few zombies, sure.. but that was always a possibility - however they won't gain any points, so it would be pretty pointless for them to do so (it'd be like how things were before SB was added). This seems like the more appropriate course of action to take so that we don't have to make a rule against this and end up punishing players for try-harding on getting points (seems a bit silly if we need to really). 3 Edited August 11, 2017 by Paralyzed Link to comment
