Mohab Posted August 16, 2017 Content Count: 192 Joined: 07/04/17 Status: Offline Share Posted August 16, 2017 I saw many surf servers having this "system" that if you try to play slam or any other program used to play music/ mic spam on servers you get instantly muted. I tried it before on a random surf server and it said "You have been muted for voice loopback". This system could possible be used for all SG Servers to prevent anyone from Mic spamming in any way possible and they would get muted instantly so that they can't continue to mic spam further on. Thanks - Mohab 1 Link to comment

I do agree with that but we have many cases where people use "SLAM" to ear rape. even though you are correct, Mic spamming can be prevented even a bit with some type of system like this. Best thing to do with mic spammers would try and contact an admin via shoutbox or pm. You should also try and find a way to record them as well, give them written and verbal warnings at different times and if he continues then present the video as a player complaint and he will learn his lesson. 1 Link to comment
Rhyzhe Posted August 16, 2017 Content Count: 614 Joined: 08/13/16 Status: Offline Share Posted August 16, 2017 This could be a great addon to the servers, however I don't know how hard it would be to implement this. There are many times where admins aren't able to go on servers and I feel like this would be a great way to at least stop some of the mic spammers that appear on the servers. There are a decent amount of people that use programs such as Slam to play cancer and earrape. I think we should try this out and see how well it does, and if it works then hurray and if it doesn't then we can always take it off. 1 Link to comment

All Ts Posted August 16, 2017 Content Count: 4441 Joined: 05/28/16 Status: Offline Share Posted August 16, 2017 Not for adding this to anything but maybe ZE, rest of the servers in my expirence most of the guys that come on with HLDJ, SLAM, etc.. don't use it excessively and the ones that do are muted/banned very quickly. I personally have no problem with the little SoundClips or playing things like the Cha Cha slide on occasion so I could view it differently than others. 4 Link to comment
Caution Posted August 16, 2017 Content Count: 11501 Joined: 10/19/08 Status: Offline Share Posted August 16, 2017 I think it's not as much of a problem today as it used to be back in the days of CSS. HLDJ was immensely popular back then and I hardly ever hear someone using programs like it nowadays. As mentioned, I don't really experience it as spam either usually, it's usually a quick sound that's played with some relevance to the current situation in the server. If anything, it's mostly just people mic spamming themselves. 2 Link to comment
