Bubblez Posted August 23, 2017 Content Count: 1057 Joined: 11/30/09 Status: Offline Share Posted August 23, 2017 I'm wondering if we could get the plugin to mute dead players while dead. I know we had this plugin to mute both alive and dead players in TTT Gmod. Can it simply be added to the current command "!ma?" It would be really beneficial especially for admins to concentrate and monitor what is happening during the rounds so we can get the full picture instead of hearing a bunch of dead players talking. It seems that a lot of current players would also have use of this command when they want to hear the game, as well as admins also being able to use this command to efficiency. To further elaborate on the admin side of things (especially from when I play in TTT), people will message in admin chat saying they were RDM'd by someone. Of course when I asked the person why he was killed, and he gives a logical reason that I didn't witness I can't really do anything. For example, he may say that a Traitor false KOS'd him, but I didn't hear it due to dead chat being loud. The !md command could be extremely useful in these situations. Gator Posted August 24, 2017 Content Count: 2669 Joined: 03/29/09 Status: Offline Share Posted August 24, 2017 I think it's a good idea. I always thought it was weird being able to mute alive players but not vice versa. Link to comment
Greggy G Posted August 24, 2017 Content Count: 1656 Joined: 04/17/17 Status: Offline Share Posted August 24, 2017 I was actually thinking the exact thing, I was trying to listen in to the alive players on ttt since we had a few rdmers come and go and I wanted to listen in to make sure I catch exactly who was the rdmer but instead I would hear very loud and annoying children constantly talking about something completely irrelevant. This specific example has occurred multiple times and rdmers for this reason have gotten away with rule breaking. I really hope this is a possibility to be added as it would be super beneficial for both admins and for the regulars who are still trying to catch rule breakers like myself. Link to comment

Bumpp @Paralyzed @Mad Dogg @Nimmy I'll see if I can modify the plugin so there's a !md command as well (if there isn't one already) if I can't get that to work I'll get in contact with those who possibly can. Not sure why this hasn't been made a thing already. 4 Link to comment
Mad Dogg Posted August 25, 2017 Content Count: 2844 Joined: 10/28/09 Status: Offline Share Posted August 25, 2017 This was actually suggested a while back https://www.steam-gamers.net/forum/showthread.php?t=74433&highlight=Mute+dead and I agree that it could be really useful for both the admins and the players. The problem is that I don't think such plugin exist. If anyone can find such a plugin then great. If not, we're going to have to make it ourselves. Link to comment

I really hate it when really loud dead players talk when I just wanna listen to the alive people. This this gets added I'm gonna be so happy. Link to comment
FLuiD Posted August 26, 2017 Content Count: 1083 Joined: 12/23/15 Status: Offline Share Posted August 26, 2017 Support for obvious reasons, however ONLY if it is toggle-able as I need to be able to hear both chats sometimes, (the very reason I support this plug-in) especially dead chat.
