I severely doubt it. There's a difference here, Havok. You're comparing apples to oranges when it comes to how the two countries treat their citizens and run their countries. The US doesn't have all the crazy violent government sponsored ethnic cleansing that China has. The facade that the Chinese are putting up about their country is absolutely ridiculous - from faking their ceremonies to cheating during the contests, it's not right. They claim that they are a unified country with no problems but in fact they are extremely divided and corrupt. The claim that you made that said the US wouldn't be bothered to get people from all 50 states at the ceremony...What does that have to do with anything? States aren't seperate and unique cultures like those in China. If I gave you a lager and said it was a stout, it would be false. They are both beer, perhaps originating from the same brewery, but they are radically different things. Same goes with the Chinese minorities and the presentational perversion they produced. That China cares so much about it's PR boggles the mind, they are like the sluttiest whores of international attention and approval ever, willing to do anything to look good. This is antithetical to the standard American foreign policy - one that ignores the opinions of others and puts defense and the defense of the people first. This stems from China's failure to value human life. They don't care for their own people, let alone others. It is disgusting, it is totalitarian, it has been the Chinese ethic for thousands of years, and it is absolutely wrong. However, the people of China can decide for themselves and overthrow the current regime if they wish, it is not our job to do it for them unless their government threatens us. Everything about this Olympics has made me like China less and less, and part of it is the mere fact that they try so hard to please us and never lift a finger to help their own people, but instead run them over with tanks with the whole world watching.
