The rule definitely needs a more clearly defined set of parameters because of the abuse we have seen, however, it's hard to determine where exactly to draw the line. The problem with an alive check is that the entire purpose is to protect yourself from everyone else who you have a reasonable expectation are tratiors. If the very people you are trying to avoid can just nullify the claim by responding "I'm alive," then what's the point? I honestly don't know any clear cut way to determine when and when not claiming a room is acceptable. Ideally, it would only be used when there are a limited amount of players left with a decent portion of those players being T's, you're only claiming a small area that is easily avoidable, and you have a good reason to believe you are being hunted down.

I believe a full on removal of claiming rooms would be good.

While we could do this, players still would want clarification on whether claiming rooms is or is not allowed. Leaving that question unanswered will create a lot of confusion among the players too. You want claiming rooms not to be a thing at all anymore? (or am I misinterpretenting what you said in this post)

Yes, I want claiming rooms to simply not be a thing anymore as I believe it would save any unnecessary confusion. Obviously it's not a massive issue, so any fix that would restrict claiming rooms or clarify it would not really bother me in the slightest. I think it would be marginally better to just not allow it.

I totally agree with all ts here it’s been a long confusion on everyone. First people claiming small rooms to people claiming a whole entire bathroom that’s huge. It’s sad to say this but it’s time to let it go.

Yet could players just not replace claiming rooms with giving verbal warnings to people following them. If someones following me and after 2 warnings i go into a room and i say warning 3 and they come in after a few seconds id dome them.

In a sense isnt this room claiming?

I find the wording in the FAQ incredibly careless and subjective. Agree with this change but I believe it will just make Traitors respond to alive checks more often, and possibly force Innocents into feeling obligated to respond. I believe a full on removal of claiming rooms would be good.

Im all for All T's suggestion. One thing i hate more than anything in TTT is claiming. I get killed on the daily for someone claiming the room, and me not knowing which room it is, I walk in and have my head blown off. So annoying.

Realistically trying to equate the two is a false equivalency.

Someone has to follow you in order to "claim the room", and the only person who you could in theory kill is that single person. If it turns out that person wasn't following you and they wander into that room later on it's not correct to kill them. For example when people are running down a linear corridor in a map, I'm running in the same direction, if they ask me to stop following me I normally tell them to get fucked and if they try to kill me I just gun them down. Another difference is that when you are warned for following someone it is very hard to miss, where as I've had situations where I've walked into a claimed room by complete accident and gotten my brains blown out. The stop following rule (in my opinion) shouldn't be used to claim areas, it should be used to stop people from literally being on your ass making you have to direct all of your attention to them (so they don't kill you). It doesn't give you right to if that player comes past you/close to you in the map later to gun them down.

I like the way you put that.

Makes more sense hearing it like that.

Thanks bub
