SG Casual Server

So I was talking with WaWa in game a bit and he mentioned that most of the servers are practically dead and don't get used so there could be a possibility that this server could make a return. I first started out on the Casual Server and it was by far one of my favorite. I'm not sure why it was removed given it's popularity and how many people played on it. I am constantly looking for a NORMAL Dust 2 Casual server but there's nothing but Comp servers with all map rotations and DM's.. not even good DM's either, all they are is a cluster fuck of horrible spawns. One might say, "But there is a Dust 2 Only Casual in the normal game". Okay sure, if you enjoy playing with closet cheaters and the overly toxic public matchmaking people.

 

I looked through the Archive and didn't see anyone mention the return of this, so I figured I'd bring it up.

Casual server has been around two times already. I believe most recently it was discarded for FFA, which at first was doing really well, maxing out almost every day but it has died out recently. I wouldn't be against throwing some new server ideas around and replacing FFA, but I think Casual is getting a bit repetitive and probably wouldn't produce any different results than the last two times unless we did something drastically different.

You'd honestly be surprised at how many people look for a US hosted casual server that's moderated, I wouldn't even be opposed to it having map rotation and not being just dust 2. Any input on a server other than Casual Dom? I mean, I would of suggested a BR style server but having played on most of them, it just didn't feel like it was made very well.

completely agree with @Snootch. the casual right now is...

- toxic

- fucked up map rotation (its only mirage and inferno now)

- has closet cheaters all the way to spinbotters that dont give a shit

if we have a casual server...

- a great place to have fun

- admins to handle toxic people & hackers

 

we can also see which team of 10 is the best at casual??

We did, but for some reason it was taken down even though it was always populated.

Casual was brought back earlier this year (in February I believe?), but it didn't do well the 2nd time around and it was replaced with ZRiot during the spring.

Expand on this please. If a case can be made to bring back Casual with a config that will self populate the server with little to no cannibalization, it will be considered.

Well considering that most Dust 2 servers are over seas, and I based that judgement on some googling I did trying to find one myself. There's a few different places were people have been upset at the fact that most of the servers were either high ping/DM's/or just Comp servers with low player caps. Not to mention I hear it a lot in the normal matchmaking just simply due to the lack of moderation in valve servers. This is all just from personal observation, I mean I'm not going to keep pressing the issue if you honestly feel it won't come back to it's former glory and a simple no will absolutely suffice.

Instead of making it a casual server I feel we should make it a battle royal server instead cause games like pubg are getting extremely popular. The gamemode would be vastly differnt and would probably expand our reach to players that may have not heard of sg before or has been looking for a return to sg.This may also attract players who have a low end pc who can’t run pubg and can run csgo and they might want to play pubg but they cant. And plus we haven’t tried to have a battle royal server yet so it wouldn’t hurt to try it out for a few days or just test it out before the hype of battle royal games die out.
