i was on early with some admins they said it would be a great idea to make jailbreak ranks kinda like on ze

 

 

want to make it clear this was not my idea just brought it up for reveiw

We had a thread about this some years back and it was a really good idea. However, I would be inclined to think that no one has made this plugin specifically for JB yet, so there's a good chance that it won't happen unless someone is willing to take the time and effort to construct a whole plugin on their own.

couldn't we just use the same plug in as ze same gerneral idea right

 

If we were to base it off of GameMe stats, I don't see why not.

 

If we were to base it off of it's own point system, like AntiTeal's plugin that was added a couple months back, then no. I would assume it would have to be reworked a bit to fit on JB (I could be wrong though).

I was the one who said that on JB and to be honest it wasn't a complete idea, more of just me spitballing about stuff. I was gonna make a thread about it but I didn't have my idea fully thought out and was trying to think of an easy way to do it. Basically just thought adding some kinda tags for T side rankings would add a bit more incentive such as Scoreboard Karma on TTT & Tags on ZE. The problem with transferring over GameMe and doing the same as the ZE Plugin is that it incentivizes Guards to be kill hungry which is an awful idea. Anything we add would need to be strictly for Prisoners.

I know what I’m about to say is a very unpopular opinion, but I really think we should add some sort ranking system for CTs that is visible in game.

 

Something that I’ve noticed while playing jailbreak recently is that half the time CTs will get shit on. It might be on maps like electric or VIP, but it’s on popular maps that will always be played. It comes to a point where it’s not that enjoyable to play on CT. After you’ve done just about everything on you have done over a dozen times, it really does become boring, it just comes to a point where there is no incentive to play CT, so you just don’t bother joining the server as often as you used to.

 

Something else I’ve noticed is that- shitty CTs depopulate the server. I’ve seen it happen over and over again, which is one of the reasons why JB doesn’t populate over 30 players like it used to. Adding a rank system for CTs will bring in CTs that know how to play the game mode to the fullest extent- which means CTs being kill hungry. But I’d rather have that than a dead server.

 

The Jailbreak game mode doesn’t pull in as many players as it used to, and if we are able to maintain and pull more players, why not do it?

 

As someone who also frequents on another JB server that utilizes the gameME point system, I can tell you that it can be cancer at times, but they have rules that oppose this cancer, such as CTs have to pursue rebellers if they see them, and most of the time the ratio stays 1:2 ( 1 CT to 2 T’s). But the difference is that on that server they can force death games and we can’t, and the most cancerous this server can get is making us crouch walk everywhere and then face a walk and freeze, which we could easily add rules to prevent this kind of cancer.

 

All of this is from my personal experience, maybe it’s been different for others, and if I could pick between gameME versus the titles, I think the titles look a lot cooler, but I’d be fine with the gameME. Sorry for the shitty formatting, on my phone.

 

Keep in mind I didn’t play when the “Elite Ten” was a thing. But I have a pretty good idea as to what it was and what it did, and why it was removed. But like I said, rules can always be adjusted to remove the cancer.

When I took over from sl4de the rules on the server were heavily in favor of CT team, afk freeze was among one of the worst, I felt like it was too easy to play CT and this was why we were seeing an influx of shitty guards. Together with nimmy and all ts we worked to make it a little tougher on guards in an attempt to encourage those who were just awful at playing the part to play t.

 

There's a reason the current ranking system is only for the rebellers and it's because a ranking system based on kills for the CTs would mean an abundance of kill hungry cunts which would lead to more situations that would require an admin to be on the server. Think about it, kids will be more inclined to do anything they can to get that precious kill for their stats which would lead to a lot stricter gameplay and promote the wrong kind of qualities in the people that ideally should be playing ct.

 

Also the elite ten was never an official thing.

 

tl;dr: Incentivizing ct kills is a horrible idea and will exacerbate the issues the server is having.

If we're going to do it the way you said it would make people overly kill hungry. We just got done removing a lot of the abuse-worthy elements from the server and I feel like this would do exactly as @delirium said. If you simply take a look at our other servers such as ZE, and TTT they've both ran into problems with how they've done their stats. I see an argument on the other end that can be made that we shouldn't give incentive to play Prisoner over Guards but having just sat here I have another idea. If we could make it so T side was based off of points, and CT side was based off of CT playtime (which is tracked by GameME). Maybe something tiered like (3 hours, 2 days, 5 days, 10 days, 15 days, 25 days).

The server is doing fine right now, definitely not dying/dead. Given I agree with you that it's dropping in the ranks which is mostly due to a lack of admins and school. Personally I think CT is too difficult and on our servers I think it's pretty much been the nature of it all for CTs to lose over and over resulting in people playing less of it. Recently there has been multiple changes I've pushed for to make playing CT more hands on, which rewards good CTs.

 

At the end of all the discussion it pretty much comes down to this, if we can't actually get it done then these are all just ideas.

If @Nimmy @shoiep @Wesker (I think you worked on ZE's? rank plugin) wanna pursue/polish this idea I'm more than happy to help.
