!rank reset

In the almost two years we've had the plugin (added on 4/17/16), afaik, we haven't had a reset as of yet. I think it's time for a fresh slate.

 

We could do things like at the end of the month the person with the highest kills gets store credits, to possibly encourage rebelling/ encourage playtime. With all the new store items I'm sure people would play more to have a chance at earning some extra credits. Of course with that would come monthly resets, even if people are against that I think we should do a reset as it's been a really long time.

I see it as the same with GameME, it's not worth the reset and even if it is it seems like an asshole thing to do, especially to people like me who only really play on T side. Yes, there is plenty people within the !rank that are not actively playing as much anymore- some who are completely gone, but I really don't think it justifies resetting the other 99%.

I believe we should do it, it’ll help keep and bring back some old and new faces back on the server. It’s like resetting karma in TTT, it would give a bit more incentive to kill CTs, making it a bit more competitive but for the best.

 

One thing that I will be worried about is that CTs will get their ass whooped over and over, but it seems that very few people care about that.

I wouldn't reset the current hiscores, though. I'd make a seasonal (monthly) ranking to keep the total hiscores. A second rank where people compete every month for top positions, encouraging gameplay time on jb.

 

Would you feel more comfortable if we didnt erase current scores and instead created a second monthly category? I think rewarding the top5-10 would be great for the general health of the server.

Completely agree with this. Keep the scores that are already there and have either weekly or monthly secondary stats that can be used for awards.

I mean, yeah. It's not a bad idea to make another one, it's just about getting someone to actually make that.

GameMe is much more relevant, !rank is strictly kills while GameMe is literally everything else including that.

Most of the people that don't play anymore are on the top page so I think the 99 percent would actually appreciate it instead of having to catch up to their ridiculous kills and some fresh people getting on the scoreboard.

Sure, I just feel it might feel a little cluttered. The only way I see this getting done is someone changing the name of the !rank command and resetting the scores just for that rank command (if that's possible). If everyone is cool with that, I understand why some people don't want their ranks reset and if that can get done it'd be cool.

I heard such a seasonal ranking was in the works for ZE, as hinted by Rain. Maybe we can adjust said plugin for jailbreak. I'd feel more relevant competing for monthly ranks than sitting on page 3 forever.
