ZE Fall damage

i agree with disabling fall damage because as large said some maps have tall ladders and if zombies can just jump all the way down and kill humans that makes that part almost impossible. Also other servers like GFL for example have fall damage disable on every map, so you should 100% disable fall damage on all maps

I know its a bit late to add my opinion to this matter, but fall damage makes certain maps more fun and challenging. For example, supershitshow would suck without fall damage as humans would literally just be able to jump wherever they want and not die, when its a lot more fun and adds an actual sense of skill to the map. People have to keep in mind that all of these maps that have fall damage enabled originally were designed with that in mind. I doubt a mapper put days of work into a map just to say, he lets screw them over by adding fall damage and make everyone hate my map. For those maps where there are ladders that need to be climbed down, there is the purpose of items to block the zombies while you go down the ladders. For example, on bathroom at the toilet paper ladder, you are supposed to use the sponge to block of the zombies to give the humans time to travel down, by which time the sponge disappears, the humans would be at a safe distance.

While I can say that some maps such as bathroom itself is made more fun without fall damage, for some maps it requires the player to actually use their brain and not just hold “w” and possibly fall off of a cliff. I personally think that fall damage should be enabled on some maps where it adds a sense of skill to the map, but diabled on ones where theres just an easy trim f the humans cant go the way theyre supposed to if they will die by jumping down, but the zombies wont.

 

Sidenote: mako reactor has a ladder part where you get teleported if you jump down too much, but i believe fall damage was originally intended to be enabled for this map. This is just an example of how map makers think about how fall damage should be implemented and would be fair to the point where the zombies cant beat the humans to the next area.

For mako no server has fall dmg because u can bhop down the pipes and there are certain areas that wont teleport you.

Still. My point being is that map makers have taken into consideration the effects of fall damage or being able to skip past parts as a zombie. It just seems ridiculous to disable on some simple maps like icecap or sss. It adds more of a skillbase to the server when maps are too simple, but having it turned off on some maps such as bathroom can make the server more fun seeing as it makes it shorter and easier. And yeah, new people can get confused by maps having fall damage vs not havig fall damage, but they would quickly learn which maps do and dont.

Just about a week ago, for some reason fall damage was enabled on bathroom. While this was somewhat of an issue, the humans were able to get past the toilet paper area by using items and general hold tactics without losing a single person. I feel like we shouldnt disable it fully, but more or less categorize which maps should/should not have fall damage enabled on them.

i mean if your saying that it makes maps too easy maybe we shouldn't worry about that until we can clear all the maps with easy. especially since some of the maps are meant to be easy and kinda brain dead fun. plus going through everymap to adjust fall dmg on and off seems like a big hassle.
