So while on surf today, Karma slapped me for fun in the middle of a map and it stopped my timer. Not sure if this is going to be an issue with the new timer plugin that we are getting, but its something to look into.

Freezing does not affect timer in any way.

Does it on purpose to prevent cheating. Haven't looked into it on the new plugin.

So we have two solutions:

 

1. Fix the timer so it doesn't stop during a run - takes some tech work; OR

2. Restrict slapping on surf to AO+

I think we can just leave it the way it is. It's supposed to function this way as a means to prevent cheating on a run, just like noclip

Ok, wasnt really sure if it was an intended thing or if it was a bug. Probably just best to make sure that everyone knows that this can cause problems for people in the middle of doing a map, especially a stage-type map

In all seriousness when he asked me whether or not to post about it I took a little bit to think. This would most likely not happen but there are tier 6 maps that have a lot of bugs and spots where players get stuck. When we first added bhop to mg this happened on a few maps and the way to get the player unstuck was by slapping them. For instance, the player gets stuck on the starting platform of stage 3.
