Bring Back Mute During Map Vote

A lot of times, one person would nominate a bad map, and then they tell people in voice chat to vote for it, which gets the new people to vote for it, and it ends up winning the vote. 5 minutes later, everyone is complaining about the map being terrible and they should RTV, except of course the person who nominated it. I feel like bringing back the mute would prevent this, and get people to vote for maps that they like, not based on what one person says.

I like this idea, however would we mute everybody? I feel like itd be beneficial to do something kind of like the skillbot plugin mute where the higher ranks (id suggest SOLO) are not muted during the map vote, so that way there can be some discussion amongst players

Well some of the culprits of skewing the vote are regulars so I feel like a silent vote would be best

I figure we can just make vote manipulation bannable, for perhaps a 12 hour ban or something, this is happening on jb, and was what I came to the forum to make a post about, I often hear cts saying "Vote 6 for a full freeday" or a less common "All ts press 6 on your keyboard."

Please implement this or some other method to make this not happen!

This used to be a thing on ZE when we were using skillbot but it was removed because it interfered with people leading on maps mainly

Sub+ was allowed to talk during map votes

I like the idea of the sub+ not being muted, but also adding on to that i think the SOLO rank being unmuted during map votes would be good, and also making it so the Leader would be unmuted in case it was someone who is not of high enough rank or has a paid subscription. While there are some regulars who are this high of rank like charizard said, those people could be easily dealt with if they spam saying 444444444 or something of the sort. It might even be cool if we had a way to request voting mutes on players, so that during the voting period those people would be muted no matter their status in SG. That last suggestion may not be possible, and if it is would need some more discussion on the guidelines and how long the mute would last, but a silent vote is the worst idea for the server especially during hard maps

I agree with Cept on how a certain rank should make it so you won’t be muted during a vote. Often times a lot of new players will just pick what maps they played before or maps they think sound cool. This is one of the reasons for why we had daily Minecraft for 2-3 weeks and it often killed the server because once it was picked a lot of the veterans didn’t want to lead Minecraft so humans would fail lvl 1 and kill the server. I think that SOLO is a too high of a rank because only 10 people would have the ability to be unmuted but they aren’t always on at the same time. I think Top 25+ would be better.

They had this on an old server I played on and was actually going to bring it up because it’s annoying when the vote is swayed by someone in game that leads to a map that most people wouldn’t usually play but they are giving people incentive to choose it other than they actually would like to play on it. I’ve also muted multiple who spam in voice vote 5 if your not gay until their vote wins. I think a rule would benefit the servers or at least stop someone from having a headache
