[Rejected] Universal rules list/thread/sections

As it currently stands, the only way to find server rules is to go into the server section, then click on a server, then click on its rules thread. To some people, that seems pretty obvious, but a player new to the servers probably wouldn't know to go there.

 

Also, there are some universal rules across all the servers, but there's no simple way to see what those rules are. If my memory serves me correctly, I think I remember there being a thread for the universal rules in the AO section. The only way for a regular member or admin to see the universal rules, as far as I can find, is to cross reference the rules between the separate rule threads for each server.

 

As someone who has been on the forums almost every day for over two years, this can still be a little confusing and hard to navigate at times. I can't even imagine how confusing this would be to someone who is new to the forums.

 

What I propose is to have a specific section/thread that is incredibly easy to access, and has all the rules from all the servers. It should also have a list of rules that are present on all servers, just to avoid any confusion. This change would make it much easier to find the rules.

 

I have searched all over the forums for anything like this and I can't find it, so if something of the sort exists that indicates it is really obscure and probably could use a change of location, anyways.

I personally do not recall the universal list in the AO section though.

Apparently I was not clear enough in my original post so allow me to provide a TL:DR

 

It is currently hard to find the rules, especially for newer players.

 

Let's create a section just for rules, so it is easier to find.

 

Within this section we would have a thread for each server containing the rules for that server.

 

We should also have a thread that displays the rules common to all servers, such as no racism, no mic spamming, etc.

I have to agree with Ghost here tbh. I've looked for specific rules before and been there for a good 10+ minutes, often not finding them anyways!

 

Would be really handy if they could be placed in their own special little section for everyone to see and reference.

We talked about this at the CA meeting and it might be worth doing (Making a new section and moving all the rules from each server section to this section instead)

I've always seen rules as very easy to pick up on from the regs and admins, but I can see where you're coming from and I would definitely find it useful. To add on to this, I spoke briefly with @Charliere and @Bdcoll some time ago about having a first time join sticky with all the rules, like I've seen on other servers.
