I suggest that the server turns off player collisions. It solves blocking everywhere in general. Most of the minigames are completly ruined by the collision. For example, on climb people have to wait for the first player to make their jump. In surf u can bump into someone only to be teleport ed back stuck in another player. It also makes games like dodge course unplayable because it is such a small platform and the player jump and hit each other on the first jump. It also fixes smaller things like people blocking cells. Ik that u can just do !stuck, but i see the removing of collision very beneficial to the entire game. I can see an agruement that can be made where player can just kill a ct and hide in a group. This can be solved by, like i have seen on another server, making a t who has done damge to a ct turn red that fades over time. Then the CT's can just tell all t's to unstack and then the CT's just kill the red.

Do you have a link to a plugin that makes people red after rebelling which then fades over time? If not, it won't even be considered.

 

That's the problem with these threads, sure it'd be really cool if we had a ton of stuff that made the game better, but we don't have anything to do it.

 

But if one exists, we'll look at it.

Dumbest idea ever. If someone blocks, just warning shot them???? And typing stuck takes like 2 seconds. And the fading thing is impossible because what would you define as rebelling? Picking up a gun? Running away too far? No plugin can do this.

Our server is a bit different then others in the terms that rebelling can be many different things other than doing damage and we don't have many of the automated systems that coincide with no-collide plugins. JB servers tend to combine nocollide with some big plugin that has a guard system, LR system, etc.. I personally think it adds a lot to gameplay in terms of stacking, but I can see why the blocking thing would make people want player collision turned off. I enjoy it cause it honestly makes rebelling easier but it also makes giving orders as CT's a bit of a clusterfuck sometimes when people block, and it can be even worse when specific T's can't leave an area due to blocking.

 

I think that unless we made a lot of other changes that would probably be bad in my opinion we shouldn't do this. I'd be far more interested in seeing some kinda "day" system added to the server as was suggested awhile ago, with the right configurations it's something that could make the melodramatic, stressful bullshit that goes on get drowned out by some silly fun shit.

i honstly dont know if troll, but ill try to respnd. I have already said that no collision is not only for the first 10 secs of game where someone blocks. collision makes all the games like climb and surf almost anoyiing. And for the second part i said the t turns red when he does damage to a guard for exampl nades/shoots/knifes

I don't feel like that would be a good idea, because you are not doing anything to make player collision useful such as death games all the time that make it needed, and with it on, it can help cts track down players that are rebelling because they can just hide in another ts body and get them both killed. Too many rules would need to be added and would be just too much work for Dominic and DML to implement them.

How would you hide in another ts body, if you're kos from rebelling I don't think that's very possible.

This wouldn't be hard to implement, it's most likely just a mp_ command.

The idea that while death games are going collision would be turned off is a better idea(when nessecary), but is much harder to implement.

On GMod jail break servers they have collision off and it doesn't seem to be a problem if people hide in other people you tell the person he is hiding in to move or they both die that simple
