Allow people to buy admin, set a basic requirement like you have to be a member on the forums, and make it something like 15 bucks a month. Absolute cancer but it’s jailbreak, the only way to fight cancer is with cancer.

As it has been said in this thread, the problem is as much as I'd like to tell @TheCharizard "play PB or I'll ban you", they aren't obligated to play a server they don't want to, and unfortunately we lack PB staff and the current player base is not admin material (sorry not sorry), the few that did stick out either left, don't play as often or lost their damn minds and made me wary to support them for admin.

@Gumline @Kicks do you seriously want to see a 9 year old PB kid with admin powers? The same exact kids that power trip as a CT are the ones that will abuse the system of being more lenient to achieve admin and/or paying for it.

Unironically enough, yes. There is a similar structure of being able to buy your way into basic admin powers on a current network I play on, and although I admit - it is extremely cancerous, it does work. It allows people to have an opportunity to show off that they are able to help administrate a server, to administrate it, and if it doesn’t work out so well, they don’t keep their powers for long.

 

Obviously there always will be power hungry people that manage to get into power regardless of whether or not there is a way to pay your way into it. I mean fuck dude, a few days ago someone got banned for harassment when they called a false KOS on an admin as a T. Shit like that should not be happening. Maybe the amount of stress on an admin results to crap like that happening. I know I personally as an admin I was constantly under stress if I was the only admin on with a full server, making it difficult for me to get an ounce of enjoyment from the server. Allowing people that are willing to pay their way for some basic/fun commands may relieve some stress by increasing the amount of total active admins.

 

Right now, a shit load of are admins are not expected to do shit, they aren’t expected to use their commands nor are they expected to even be active every week. The basic thing you need to maintain your position as an admin on SG is to be active and play ONCE A MONTH. We have a lot of people that are granted powers and LITERALLY don’t do anything with them. If you are so keen on keeping requirements to apply for admin so high, and in doing so prohibiting others from obtaining power, maybe you should lower your standards and allow people that want to help, to help.

I think you bring up good points that aren't worth talking about here in the highlighted portion simply because this is about PB, and the thing PB needs immediately is some kind of "protection" for when the server gets hectic. I think relying on admins regardless of how we get them in the age of CS:GO is dumb, cause most of the people we get aren't going to be the brightest people eitherway. I will also say that I completely disagree with you about some of it, and that admins are expected to do certain things but the oversight is pretty bad leading to people getting away with things for way too long.

 

The solution to any of this is NOT to let people pay for admin, I think that is an awful idea in SG's current state of bad oversight and hectic vanilla servers with no buffer between the players & server. I'm gonna sit down with @Dominic and @DML and we're gonna try to come up with some things to add to Jailbreak to pitch, and I think there will be a separate thread publicly where that can be fleshed out and scrutinized. I really, really think JB could embrace the way it is in a deathmatchy sense while still balancing itself to be a bit more healthy and encourage more quality players to stick around.

This is a decision the higher ups might have to make but lets be honest here we all know what they are going to say it does not take a rocket scientist to figure this out
