All Ts Posted July 15, 2018 Content Count: 4441 Joined: 05/28/16 Status: Offline Share Posted July 15, 2018 I'm gonna reiterate I think guidelines should be set for what an admin has to do to be reasonably undercover, and what guidelines count as someone revealing them. Putting the burden too far in players corner could have people be punished for simply making the mistake (if you'd even call it that) of calling an admin who didn't put much effort into going undercover out. There are tons of admins who sit around with their name changed who aren't trying to go undercover or just so happen to change their avatar. We don't want admins running around abusing a ruling the same way we don't want players abusing the absence of one. Putting too much burden on the admins themselves is also bad, but it's just a fact that going undercover unless you're genuinely thorough about it is not bullet proof. In my opinion there needs to be atleast a path for a person to be punished for it in for-sure situations. Link to comment
Bdcoll Posted July 15, 2018 Content Count: 913 Joined: 10/22/12 Status: Offline Share Posted July 15, 2018 I don't particularly see how this can't be down to the players. I literally joined the server with a completely different name to my own "Lemon Juice" , yet before i could even attempt to hide my store items i was being called out by players on the server. It wasn't a case of accidentally doing it, it was pure and simple "I am going to call you out, i dont care your undercover, i am doing it". Why the hell should I have to take action more than changing my name to point out to people that i am quite clearly not playing openly as an admin. A RDMer isn't going to know or care about my avatar, they are't going to know or care about my store items, they aren't going to know or care about my steam ID, or my karma or any of that. This is purely down to regular players on the server being a jackass. I don't need to stop what i'm doing to come in-game and help deal with a problem. Yet i choose to. Right now though, i'm strongly considering removing the majority of regulars on my steam friends that i don't talk to, who normally just talk to be to try and get an admin in-game. Why should i even attempt to be helpful and join, if within seconds i'm called out and rendered useless? 4 Link to comment

Braided Posted August 15, 2018 Content Count: 84 Joined: 07/24/17 Status: Offline Share Posted August 15, 2018 So the thread just kinda stopped existing, and the mail icon is now red. No clue what this means but will this be implemented into the servers? I dont think anyone who responded so far disliked this idea in my eyes. Link to comment

Lokibelowkey Posted October 22, 2018 Content Count: 697 Joined: 06/19/18 Status: Offline Share Posted October 22, 2018 (edited) This is important because an admin is going undercover to catch people who break rules and if they are revealed by a regular it will tell people that normally would break rules to not that is a good thing normally but when someone breaks rules and a player asks a admin to come on and no one recorded the infraction they will have no proof to punish them. So going under cover allows them to gain evidence to punish them properly than the rule breaker stopping when the admin is revealed and won't get punished on the account of no evidence. I feel as though there are two different scenarios the one described above and one where they just don't want to tag up or sent tagged up just not tagged up for the purpose of punishing someone but just playing undercover. I definitely think that someone should be punished for the first scenario where they are attempting the punish someone and gain evidence and they reveal them it should be punishable and I'm split on the second scenario so I don's know what to say on it. Lastly I feel that either if the admin doesn't want to be revealed or to make it harder for someone to reveal them they should go to basic models and player effect along with changing their profile picture and username. and of course at that point if someone goes out of their way to reveal an admin and know full well of they situation, there should be some sort of punishment/warning.
