Pred Posted August 7, 2018 Content Count: 713 Joined: 01/22/16 Status: Offline Share Posted August 7, 2018 I think breaking vents should not be KOS bc you’re not really rebelling or harming the CT’s in anyway. A map like vipintheremix there can be a lot of confusion since the 1st cell has a vent in it and if a t breaks the vent the player will get killed and will be forced to wait like 4mins. Manny Posted August 7, 2018 Content Count: 1799 Joined: 12/31/17 Status: Offline Share Posted August 7, 2018 (edited) Everyone has pretty much summed it up. There's already the chance to give them a warning shot (if an order such as be on big cage boxes and they stop to knife the vent), it gives too much leverage to the cts and imo could lead to some very annoying cts forming, the T might not necessarily have intent to rebel (on summer jail the top left cell, i usually break it just because it's in my cell and to occupy a ct, making them think I used it), also that vents are already incredibly in the favor of the cts (the ones in big cage are always long and there is usually only one way to exit and it's extremely small). I see why the idea of changing the rule is there but from my standpoint the cons weigh out the pros of a rule change. I would like to see a counter argument & reason as to why breaking vents should be kos, if anyone believes it should be kos feel free to voice your opinion. Virtious Posted August 7, 2018 Content Count: 135 Joined: 04/13/18 Status: Offline Share Posted August 7, 2018 I don’t see why adding this rule would be a problem, our servers already are very T sided that making the vents KOS any breaking them wouldn’t be that bad of a thing in my opinion. I see it’s a way of more balancing which will still make the server T sided so I don’t see this being a bad thing. This idea would have my support. 1 Link to comment
Kicks Posted August 7, 2018 Content Count: 391 Joined: 12/24/16 Status: Offline Share Posted August 7, 2018 A lot of the times there are very few CTs that are able to take control of the round, I’m pretty sure CTs in general have a 25~ win rate (I may need to check on that) and as of now the only way CTs get to LR is A- doing a deathgame in which a lot of T’s participate(very unlikely) B- CTs are somehow able to outgun massive amounts of rebellers via better aim/camping vents (unlikely) C- making T’s crouch everywhere and farm warning shots (aids) D- CT sided map like outdoor jail is being played(never happens) Most rounds end in T’s having free reign over the map, giving an opportunity for CTs to be rewarded for paying attention to the prisoners will allow more opportunities for better CTs to take reign and actually being able to control the round. It’ll also give more chances for T’s to be able to actually LR, which apparently a large portion of the server enjoys doing. I’ll probably add a shit ton of text onto this post when I get to my laptop Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk Link to comment
Strayyz Posted August 7, 2018 Content Count: 1634 Joined: 04/15/18 Status: Offline Share Posted August 7, 2018 Well, this is just my 2 cents but I would have to say yes, because it is suspicious behavior that could lead to uncontrollable rebels that makes the CT team lose rounds because of some guy braking vents. It makes it way harder for CTs to play and they already have to watch everything, including secrets. It would be nice to know that breaking vents is kos-able, and makes it a whole lot easier for the CT team. Link to comment
ExRev Posted August 7, 2018 Content Count: 2238 Joined: 03/29/10 Status: Offline Share Posted August 7, 2018 No. As others have stated, many times when I've played I'll break a vent and never use it, which some CTs will freak out thinking someone went out in the vent. Also, if someone else was in the cell with me, breaks the vent and leaves, and the CT sees me in the cell with an open vent and kills me because breaking a vent is KOS, I'm going to be a little pissed off that I was freekilled, and I'm sure I wouldn't be the only one. And before someone says "well, then they freekilled you and that's against the rules", ok, but if you make breaking a vent KOSable and this situation comes up, how are you going to verify it? Plus, unless the CT is legitimately being a freekilling tard, then how were they to really know? Link to comment
Shime Posted August 8, 2018 Content Count: 15 Joined: 07/13/18 Status: Offline Share Posted August 8, 2018 CT’s already have it hard, I believe breaking vents should be Kos, why would you break it in the first place if you don’t plan on going inside it? It doesn’t make sense to me. Link to comment
All Ts Posted August 8, 2018 Content Count: 4441 Joined: 05/28/16 Status: Offline Share Posted August 8, 2018 Really nice to see so much feedback on the forums related to JB from the players. We've decided against making breaking vents KOS for now, but this is something that may be revisited in the future if we feel Prisoners need to be dialed back harshly. Again, thank you for the feedback and it's really nice to see a lot of the JB community on our forums. Hope all of you are having a good week thus far. 2 Link to comment
Brian Posted August 9, 2018 Content Count: 217 Joined: 04/11/17 Status: Offline Share Posted August 9, 2018 I think breaking vents shouldn't be KOS. Some of the vents take like 20 fucking swings to open and image big cage. People will literally stare at a vent waiting for someone to knife it, The second someone does they get shot and killed. And it would make Rebelling WAAAY harder for the Ts. Plus our server is known for easy rebelling and puts a challenge on the CT's which is a good and fun thing. Also it would make the "Lurking" role for CT's useless since they really don't need to be down in vents waiting for people to go in them to be considered "KOS". Personally i'd say keep it the way it is. Link to comment
