Really? I guess I'm done making suggestions. I gave a full length one to try to fix the major issues on the server but NOPE. Get this kind of response from a BOD...

As big as your wall of text was, it was basically just copy-pasted from the rules that other servers have. The reason our server attracts so many players is because of how forgiving and open it is to players.

For instance, warning shots and not having !silence (a very abusable command, mind you), allows players to talk at a reasonable volume between each other without getting blasted because they didn't hear the CT tell them to face left.

I understand your concerns with the server, and I sympathize with the issues you have taken notice to, but I don't feel that SG is comfortable sacrificing the core premise of our server just to get a better CT win ratio.

As you may see by the title, I'm gonna focus this post on how to fix the JB server from all the issues that it currently faces: freekilling, mass-freekilling, mic spam, toxicity, racism, disrespect, etc.

There are many ways to fix the issue at hand, but lets start with the rules. These are a couple of rules that I believe must be added/removed from the current JB server so that we can fix issues.

1. [Remove] Remove warning shots. Not only does it lead freekilling (accidental headshots, AWP warning shots, double warning shots, etc.) but it also allows for people to say, "No, it was his 2nd warning shot already." or "It was a warning shot, not a freekill." If you remove warning shots not only will you get a better CT-T round win ratio because rebelling of any sort will be KOS, but you will also have less freekills.

Well, first off the instances your implying are not "freekills". Warning shots allow for ts to keep living if they disobey and order slightly. Our server is mainly focused on rebelling rather then straight orders and deathgames. Also just wanted to point out, if we removed warningshots the cts would be able to rack up 30+ kills everymap and most likely just give orders that allow them to get the most amount of kills possible.

2. [Add] Add a warden system. With a warden system you'd have however many CT's and one main CT who would give all the orders. This would remove the issue of conflicting orders, contradicting orders and people calling out orders over each other. This will keep it so that T's will only listen to orders from one person and not be afraid of getting freekilled because there was a T order or something of sorts.

We have something similar to this in the beginning of the round, its called !fo. it allows for the first ct to take fo to give his order without any interruption of his ct buddies to contradict/confuse the order for 15 seconds. In regards to contradicting orders, i believe we are trying to find something to help reduce this problem.

3. [Add] Add an !peace/!silence command that can be used by the warden (as described above). The way that this command would work is that the warden would be able to (once every 1-3 minutes) type !silence in chat and it would mute everyone for a certain period of time. This would allow for him to give any imperative orders that he needs to give without being interrupted and screamed over.

Cts can order ts off mic for a max of 15 seconds, and if they do not comply, they are liable to being warningshot. if we implemented a command for this, since we do not have an warden, it will most likely get abused by cts who just use it to silence the ts and not give orders.

4. [Remove] Remove this rule that says that 'you can't force death games'. If you can't force death games then what's the point of having 20 death games in a map? By forcing T's to do death games, players will die from the games, not from CT's. The way the server works now forces CT's to kill T's to get to LR, if they don't kill the T's, the round will end in a draw or in a CT loss. Forcing death games is part of JB.

We tried force death games before. Cts kept on using force death games to get the most amount of kills possible till they are at the minimum of ts that they are allowed to kill. We also tried to implement restrictions like 'you can only do death games past 2:30'. Cts just gave orders until 230 and then forced death games there. Like i said, our server is rebelling oriented and revolves around gunfights with ts and cts, forcing deathgames would ruin basically any chance for the ts to rebel.

5. [Add] Increase the amount of time that rounds have. After removing #4 (the suggestion above), having longer rounds would be fantastic. It would allow for more games to be played.

Like i said with no need for force deathgames we shouldnt increase the time by much. We have increased the number of ts required to do lrs to 4 (not official) as a test to see if lrs can be completed before the round end.

6. [Add] A CT queue instead of allowing anyone to join CT. This means that if someone gets swapped and the admin leaves the server, the player must wait in queue before joining CT again, giving a bigger time gap between the swap and returning to CT. Players with longer play-time (up to 24 hours) get queue priority.

This might be interesting to look at, since we are starting to gain alot more new players due to the f2p changed made.

7. [Add] Add specific special days, such as warday (CT's pick a map area and they must stay in that area and kill the T's that come in near proximity of that area, last 2 T's alive get LR), hide and seek (T's get let out of cells and must hide, last 2 alive get LR), freeday, low grav. freeday, drugs freeday, battle royale (T's fight other T's, last 2 alive get LR). These specific special days could be accessed by the warden through a command such as !sd (short for special day).

We have been discussing for ideas of a fun day/special day plugin that we could implement in order to spice up the rounds on JB already.

8. [Add] A chat filter that prevents people from saying the N word or any derivative of it, cursing (excessive), homophobia, sexism, racism, etc.

Possibility of adding this, but the fact is that people will still try to skirt around the racism rule by using words that sound/look like the word that is banned. So its not going to be very effective besides the blatantly racist people that join our server.

9. [Add] Start a warn-kick-ban system. Someone freekilled > slay, again, kick, again, ban. Said the N word > mute, again, kick, again, ban. Quite often I see player screaming the N word and spraying stack as if there was no tomorrow. After killing a mass stack they get team switched. That's not right. Minimum for spraying down a stack should be a 1 week ban.

We already have a protocol. Also if your seeing these incidents happen, please file a complaint on these people so they can get banned https://www.steam-gamers.net/forum/forumdisplay.php?f=116

10. [Remove] Repeat maps. There are at least 5 maps on the map pool that are reskins of electric. They have the exact same layout and those are the only maps that get rotated. Rarely do you see maps such as clouds, peanut, etc. played. This will cause for players to know more about different maps, discover new secrets (something that the JB community needs. I went on clouds and knew all secrets while 95% of players didn't know the most basic ones) and, at the end, have a more diverse map pool.

We dont have 5 maps, theres only 2 maps of electric. I do get what your saying though, we might have a map testing event coming soon where we could possibly find new maps to add to the map pool in order to diversify it.

These are a few of the suggestions I can think of right now. I will keep on adding to this post as I think of new suggestions.

I've been playing JB since 2014 and I'd say I know a lot about it. I'm glad to attempt and help with plugins, adding new rules and enforcing them if needed.

Please give me feedback on what you think :)

Regards,

- Leo

A lot of these ideas are completely counter productive to keeping order on the server, some are things that might have to happen if the server ever hopes to sit at rank 20 or under. The warden system, queue system, are decent ideas that in the past were on the radar. Ideas like removing warning shots, allowing forced deathgames, making rounds longer change the identity of the server way too radically and IMO will lead to worse problems than now.

Nobody is saying your suggestions are bad. Infact some are good and are useful for us, and i'm sure Delirium will agree that we do appreciate these sorts of suggestions from the regular server players!

The issue is that the biggest suggestions go against what our server is. We don't want to be, and never have been, just another JB server for people to go on. Its different to all of those in its rules and how the game play functions. Yes it does have its flaws, but its what we like and has been wildly successful for us for years. The ruleset is pretty much the same as it was back when i first joined SG 10 years ago, and our server has for a good majority of that time been one of the busiest!

Well that's not what he said. I understand what you're saying, but what he said is completely different and with a very rude demeanor to it.

Bro, it's not what people enjoy. It's what the trolls enjoy. No mutes, easy guns, no admins, can't die. It's a perfect way to make trolls. They can scream because there are no mic restrictions, they can run because they need to be warning shot after rebelling? These things don't make the server do well, they just host trolls. The server just became free, that's why the population on it boomed, because trolls can join easily. I'm sorry to say this in a harsh way, but the server is currently a mess. These basic things you talk about don't make the server do well... SG hosts the rookie players that will eventually move on when they discover new servers...

Last time i checked, the server is doing good. People DO like how it is now. Proof as the some 45 people we have at one sometimes. Im sorry that you dont like how it is, but most people do. Right now, i dont see a reason to change EVERYTHING about this server

Ok then, if that's your opinion that's fine. But I think that in a matter of 2-3 months the server will be dead if no changes are implemented.

Didnt see this gem.

Theese servers have been up and running far longer than you think. I get your a new player who wants what HE wants, but im pretty sure the administrative team here has got it under control. :)
