If you get banned on an alt you get ip banned on your main aswell, right? But, if you don't get banned on your alt, does you main get banned because you are playing on a "duplicate account?"

As long as you do not get banned, you are allowed to play on duplicate accounts. If one account gets banned, your duplicate account with the same IP will get banned too.

Ok, how this works is if you are banned on an account does matter whether its your main or alt, none of your other accounts will get banned (unless its a perm). If you join the server while an account is banned on the same ip you got banned on you will get banned automatically on that account for ban evading.

What if you share your device with someone?

If it is a permanent ban, and you share a device with another person, it’s the same thing as playing on another account. Since it is an IP ban, any account you play on, you will get banned.
