Eldest Posted September 10, 2008 Content Count: 2686 Joined: 03/22/08 Status: Offline Share Posted September 10, 2008 Also for the time being don't buy 1TB+ HDDs, they have a horrible survival rate even out of the box during formating. Don't buy 1TB+ HDD including 1TB or above 1TB?Cause I was recommanded to buy 1TB when I built my computer. Link to comment
Dark Torcher Posted September 10, 2008 Content Count: 240 Joined: 05/28/08 Status: Offline Share Posted September 10, 2008 i have a 1 terabyte drive, well actually just two 500gb in raid i have yet to actually do a full defrag since my files are always moving around and i really dont feel like to wait for a defrag to finish two 150gb (one is wd raptor) three 500gb -lookin to buy a 300gb raptor, maybe will try that spinpoint crap, sounds good.. auzentech are fools, new driver for prelude sucks and is buggy as hell, 6.11 release is prob best one so far i am rambling, blah blah defrag c: -v prob best for beginner defragment doesnt yield much results unless you repeatedly move and edit large files (really large) across the same volume for a while which will cause a discontinuity in the disk reading, defrag just makes files streamlined so readin the disk will be less slower i have a blog, http://ajax.elementfx.com/blog palin changes her choice too much, never taking a firm stand, which she has just proven again done rambling more ppl need to play piratewars on minigames server.. aceofrazgriz Posted September 10, 2008 Content Count: 19 Joined: 08/29/08 Status: Offline Share Posted September 10, 2008 i've never felt defragmenting to be all that important. its at best a once a yaer thing to do, again unless you often move VERY LARGE files around. there are some free defrag progs out there that are legit and work well... idk which. i do like the tutorials idea. i got plenty of knowledge and do pleeeeenty of tech support. if ya ever want some help, or if any1 has a request for a tutorial.
