Introducing Gangs!

Hello everyone,

 

Today myself and the Jailbreak staff are excited to bring you the new Gangs plugin! This is a plugin that will allow you to earn points together in groups of up to 10 people. You can work your way up the scoreboard by gaining points from kills and assists, but you can also lose points by dying. Here is the exact numbers for gaining / losing points:

 

- A kill on a CT will make you gain 2 points.

- An assist on a CT will make you gain 1 point.

- A death will make you lose 1 point.

 

These are subject to change, but we believe these are good numbers. Now onto gang creation and structure. For the gang ranks, we have Owner, Admin, Moderator and Member. Admins have the ability to kick anyone below Admin, promote people to Moderator and invite other members. Moderators have the ability to kick anyone below Moderator and invite other members. Members don't have any abilities, they are just apart of the gang and will gain / lose points for the gang. Here is a full list of the commands that can be used:

 

- !gang - opens up the gang menu

- !gang gangname - creates your gang

- !gleave - leaves your gang

- !gdisband - disbands your gang

- !ginvite player - invites player to your gang so long as you have the ability to invite members

- !gkick player - kicks player so long as they are below you in rank

- !gpromote player - promotes player

- !gdemote player - demotes player

 

CTs cannot gain points whatsoever. Additionally, if you kill someone on CT and they are in your gang, you won't get any points. This is to deter the amount of point farming that goes on. Furthermore, this plugin will only enable when there are 11 or more players on the server. This is also to make sure nothing is getting abused. While these things are in place to prevent point farming, it is still possible but is not allowed in any way and is listed in the Rules section of !gang. Here is a full list of rules for Gangs, this list is subject to change:

 

- No racial slurs in your gang names.

- No harassment with gang names.

- No point farming. (letting your friends kill you, letting your friends kill other people, etc.)

- No exploiting.

 

The Jailbreak staff has worked very hard on this, but the person you can thank for all of this becoming a reality is @Nishok. He has worked extremely hard to make this work and we all owe him a thank you. Bugs may happen and there is always room for improvement, so please report any flaws or give any feedback you have.

Actually, a few questions.

 

1. Can we expect a similar plugin for CT in the future?

2. Can the top 3 gangs have their gang tag/name in a cool color?

Will a death on CT cause you to lose points? If so, I feel that this should be disabled to prevent people from being deterred from CT as you would only be able to lose points.

Great plugin. Two questions:

1) What would occur if you would !gleave as an owner (instead of disbanding of course)?

2) Will there be somewhat like a !gtop command showing a list of the top gangs, similar to that of the pop-up list that appears when you type top or top10 in chat?

Answer to #2 is accessible through the 5th option on !gang.

Yet another question

If my gang has 10 people in it and has a total of 3000 points, if a member leaves, will his points also be taken with him?

EDIT: Another suggestion is to allow us to view the stats of other gangs when we press the gang name in Top Gangs.
