What were you cooking that caused this mess? You may want to consider Barkeeper's Friend or other chemicals to tackle it. Using harsh physical abrasives will damage the stainless steel surface and make it less resistant to food debris. 1 Link to comment

Caution Posted May 31, 2019 Content Count: 11501 Joined: 10/19/08 Status: Offline Share Posted May 31, 2019 If you are having trouble with removing this then place about half a cup of water in the pot and place it on the stove. Turn the fire on and allow the water to boil, which is only about 5 to 10 minutes, depending on what you wanna do... After the water has reach a rumbling boil, turn the fire off, and pour the water out. Now the green stuff should be off. Now you can wash your pot and keep your dishwater clean. If this does not work, get a new one tbh. That can actually be counter productive. If something is stuck onto the bottom of the pan, turning the heat up on it can just cause it to burn itself further onto the bottom. put in hot water then use this shit to scrub with I wouldn't use that on that type of pot, you'll end up scratching it (unless it's mild steel wool). If it's actual 'gunk' that you can physically feel when you rub your fingers across it, and it isn't going away after all that work - throw it away. If it's just a stain, then buy barkeeper's friend or All Clad's cleaner and try using those. Both are amazing and all I use to polish (I prefer All Clad's for cleaning cookware, but BF is a cleaner for other stuff as well). 4 Link to comment
