JB Community Meeting 2/22/2020

Hi everyone,

 

We're in the process of rolling out a rule overhaul aimed at simplifying our existing ruleset, and will be splitting up the FAQ into a guide for new players and a guide for players who are coming from other servers. For this meeting we want to go over the below rule changes be sure to attend! At the end of the meeting we'll have an open Q&A with our JB managers, CAs, and admins present to answer your concerns.

Rules to Remove

Rule: "• CTs are NEVER required to give freedays, and they can be revoked at any time. All other orders override a freeday."

Remove "CTs are NEVER required to give freedays". This is implied and doesn't need a rule. Anything that isn't in the rules is game. Thus, CTs by default aren't required to give freedays. Add an FAQ if we need it.

 

^ Proposal: Will be removed and moved to the guide for players familiar with JB.

 

 

 

Rule: "• CTs do not have to honor pardons or promises to rebelling Ts."

Rule: "• CTs can only force the Ts to play a death-game for 45 seconds at a time."

Don't quite understand why this is a thing. Situations this rule aims to prevent usually take care of themselves. I don't see anything wrong with a deathgame going on until 4 or less players are left.

 

^ Proposal: Will be removed.

 

 

 

Rule: "• CTs must let the map made death-game do the damaging/killing. CTs cannot use forced death-games to gain points from kills."

Already covered by "• CTs can only force map made death-games. The map made death-game must give the Ts a reasonable chance to live.".

 

^ Proposal: These two rules will be combined into: CTs can only force map-made death-games and must let the death-game do the damaging and killing. The map-made death-game must give the Ts a reasonable chance to live.

 

 

 

Rule: "• CTs aren't allowed to enforce or create their own KOS rules! This means CT's cannot bypass warning shots for situations that call for them, despite saying otherwise."

Covered by "• Warning shots (1 Shot, 1-99 DMG) are required unless the T is rebelling or blatantly disobeying orders. After a warning shot is given if the T keeps disobeying the same order they can be killed.".

 

^ Proposal: Reword into - "• Warning shots (1 Shot, 1-99 DMG) are required unless the T is rebelling or blatantly disobeying orders. After a warning shot is given if the T keeps disobeying the same order they can be killed. This means CTs cannot enforce or create their own KOS rules."

 

 

 

Rule: "• CTs are not allowed to order T's to have a warday."

Rule: "• CTs cannot declare themselves warden, wardens do not exist on this server."

Rule: "• CTs are not allowed to tell Ts to AFK Freeze."

^ Proposal: Above 3 rules will be combined into a one-liner. CTs are not allowed to order Ts to have a warday, order Ts to AFK freeze, or declare themselves as warden.

"• Conflicting orders are any orders that conflict with a previously given order. Revoking a freeday for another order or adding restrictions is not conflicting."

with

I took a listen about the first issue on the recording about War Day and cells not opening by themselves. There is a plugin called smartjaildoors which would allow CT Warden to open from anywhere on the map. Perhaps this could be used just to open auto on some maps that don't have it.
