Mikey Posted October 11, 2008 Content Count: 903 Joined: 01/07/08 Status: Offline Share Posted October 11, 2008 Well I don't really need help as much as your opinion guys, that's why this is not in the tech talk section . Alright here's the deal. Right now I am in a family plan with me and my other 3 family members (t-mobile). Recently I took a lot of interest into the new Ipod3G and I decided to get it, what was the straw that broke the camels back is that program I found that let's u look up drinks and how to make them(am getting a job as a bartender).Annnnyyyway! I will have to cancel the one line from the family plan and get a 40$/month plan with at&t (will not hack the iphone)with i think a 40$ activation fee for the 2 year plan. So here's the cost i will have to make: Possible cancellation fee for the one family plan line $$ + 200 for iphone + 40 activation fee + 40 first month = 280$+ + 40 a month -- My questions are. 1)Is there a cancellation fee for the family plan line? 2)How good is the Iphone? 3)Does the 40$/month individual plan include texting? 4)Is there and better/cheaper way to do this? Thanks for help guys, If u don't feel like typing u can just talk to me in vent when am on. Link to comment

Besides u wont be able to use all the features with a hacked phone. do u have to pay for the internet on it? Link to comment

trakaill Posted October 11, 2008 Content Count: 3736 Joined: 11/30/07 Status: Offline Share Posted October 11, 2008 YOU HAVE TO GET A DATA PLAN (internet browsing) its required if you have a smart phone... its about 30 extra!! I would not change plan but get an unlocked iphone and add data to your current plan!! Or change bt still no matter what you are looking at $70 to $100 dollars a month just for you..G3 is the most amazing phone on the planet.. I cant afford it yet but Ive looked it up!! For $70 a month you should be able to get unlimited data and text with a good amount of minutes!! G3 internet is very fast (for a phone) and depending on your hobbies its very useful.. I know as a pilot they have a lot of pilot software I could use!! Link to comment
Toxin Posted October 11, 2008 Content Count: 2115 Joined: 05/06/08 Status: Offline Share Posted October 11, 2008 You hack it, you go to T-Mobile. Internet-Plans are way cheaper with T-Mobile. Heard they have two different plans, one for $4.99 , one for $19.99. Of course, it's slower than the one At&T offers (it not 3G) but you can live with it, and if you still have a little patience you want to lose while surfing with T-Mobile, I can only recommend it.
