The server came out a very long time ago and a million and one things have changed since, but from now on we'll log changes here.

- Restricted overflow access to capped channels to IA+

 

- Fixed Veterans being able to join voice channels under "General Chat"

 

- Fixed being able to see voice channels for other games without the role

 

- Added new server invite background and banner (thank you @nesquik)

 

- Created #server-list and moved list of servers there

 

- Edited #rules-and-info to include links to all of our socials

 

- Added private voice channels. (thank you @Benzene, @Mikey, @Bacon) People allowed to create them are Subs, VIPs and Nitro Boosters. To create one, just join the "Join To Create" channel under the category and you'll instantly have one. The commands for the bot should be used in #pc-commands and are as follows:

 

.voice lock - locks your channel

 

.voice unlock - unlocks your channel

 

.voice name (name) - rename your channel

 

.voice limit (number) - limits how many people can join

 

.voice permit (@user) - permits a user to join your channel

 

.voice reject (@user) - kicks the person from your channel and blocks them from joining

 

.voice claim - lets you claim ownership of the channel if the owner leaves

- Our server is now a community server.

 

- Converted the announcement and events channel into actual announcement channels. Make sure to follow them both!

 

- Added the Autajja bot. It will automatically ban people who mass mention.

• Redid Reaction Roles/Server Assignment (now found in #role-selection at the top of the discord)

• Added TF2 servers to server assignment roles
• Added a new Events role (choose this if you wish to be pinged for events)

 

• Created game channels for every game role selectable
• Redirected game updates into each game specific channel (except for FiveM and Tarkov(#BlameTheDevs))

• Moved #server-list to the top of the discord
• Added Player Complaint and Bug Report tickets in #tickets at the top of the discord

Role Selection Changes

• Added Squad to game selection in #role-selection
• Added Fallujah under Squad Servers in #role-selection
• Re-organized server role selection in #role-selection to be separated by games

Information Channel Changes

• Removed #server-list and #faq in the [Information] section at the top of the discord
• Created #information channel hosting info related to FAQs, Connections, Servers, Roles, and Receiving Ranks
• Renamed #rules-and-info to #rules due to the change listed above

Announcement Channel Changes

• Created #media announcement channel
  • This will post when new tweets are made, and streams go live. More may be added in the future
• Added Twitter and Twitch roles
  • React in #role-selection to receive these roles and get pinged when posts are made in #media

 

Text/Voice Channel Changes

• Cleaned up channel permissions everywhere
  • Let us know if you find something weird by making a bug report in #tickets
• Redid #suggestions channel. Read the pins to see the proper usage of the channel.

Role Selection Changes

• Added Call of Duty role to #role-selection
  • For all you gamers we added a COD role and channel to talk about all your gaming needs!

 

New User Changes

• Added a captcha requirement for new users joining the discord
  • New users will have to complete a captcha sent to them in DMs. This should help alleviate the troll/spam/bot accounts from joining the server

Role Selection Changes

• Renamed #role-selection to #roles under the [Information] category
• Moved game roles to a new channel called #game-roles under the [Games] category
  • This helps specify the area to find access to game-specific channels and makes navigating #roles easier
• Removed Squad server roles from #roles
  • Squad based pings have mostly been reliant on the Squad game role, so having the server roles was redundant
  • Be sure to check out our squad discord at https://steam-gamers.net/servers/discord/

 

Information Changes

• Fixed some inconsistencies in the #information channel panels to reflect recent/older changes in the community/discord

 

Game Changes

• Added new game channels and roles, including #warcraft-chat and #league-chat for WoW and LoL respectively
• Removed #fivem-chat as the channel and role were not being used

General Updates

• Removed Bug Report Tickets and converted Player Complaint Tickets into Support Tickets
• Added a Starboard titled #best-of-sg under [Other]
  • Messages with over six emojis can get added to this channel!

Category Changes

• Deleted #voice-chat channel
• Deleted the Music 2 voice chat
  • This channel, and #voice-chat were rarely used and clogging up the discord, so this change along with a few others were intended to cut out channels no one uses.
• Moved the Music 1 voice chat to [General] and changed its name to Music
• Added a stage channel as our Community Meeting Channel under [General] 
  • Removed our old Meeting Channel voice chat along with this change
• Moved #bots to [General]
• Moved [Private Channels] above [Other] and [Games]
  • This change was primarily made to promote people getting in voice channels and talking with each other more, and looks better for any visiting members who are eager to play some games and socialize
