Best Protaganist Arthur vs John (RDR&RDR2)

I played through both RDR & RDR2 and liked both John and Arthur, John was pretty good and I liked his personality but Arthur I find was the better character, he was more worked on, has a better backstory I find, a better personality, and he really changed for the better when he realized he was dying of TB with no cure but John was kind of a dick in RDR2 and he always complained about things until Jack was taken.
