Aaron117 Posted October 15, 2008 Content Count: 174 Joined: 05/03/08 Status: Offline Share Posted October 15, 2008 (edited) I'm talking about The whole 'I mute you if I don't like the conversation' shit that goings around with admins. No this is not pointed at all, or any admins what so ever, only the ones that admit to doing it. Why do 'you' happen to say "Don't talk about blank, because I don't like the conversation about blank, and if you don't stop I will mute you." I'm sick of getting these lectures on what I should be talking about to my friends. I keep it PG13, no racism, prejudice part out of conversation at all times while on server, and steam. I was making a harmless joke about a map flaw on how the underground part was a cube shape when rock is very rigged. Not being serious, many, many minutes later I get muted by an anonymous admin. The whole rule of the world to allow freedom of speech still exsist people, but I still try not to stretch that muscle so much. I keep my opinions to a certain extent. Also, disrespecting is a mere opinion on what you find offensive. Zero (0) (0%) tolerance of racism is a rule on this forum/server(s) right? I was talking about a country about a hours ago and the admin didn't like the negativity that was coming out of my mouth how I didn't like "Their health-care system" so I get kicked, not banned, not muted, not warned, not not not, just kicked. If any higher power would love to take 5 minutes of their time AFTER reading this wall-o-text and make a good old, clear, stated exampled rules other than the ones we have, it'd be great. Red Posted October 15, 2008 Content Count: 6559 Joined: 03/14/07 Status: Offline Share Posted October 15, 2008 If people start arguing or having a full blown forum over a topic over mic, that can basically turn into mic spamming for those people who are just trying to play the game. Chit chat here and there is fine, but when you start discussing the political and economic ramifications of forcing the reduction of carbon emissions on the public and private sectors, then that's just annoying. SpikedRocker Posted October 15, 2008 Content Count: 6242 Joined: 04/13/08 Status: Offline Share Posted October 15, 2008 Yeah full blown conversatons over mic should be kept in vent. That way it doesn't effect the game. Link to comment

Aaron117 Posted October 15, 2008 Content Count: 174 Joined: 05/03/08 Status: Offline Share Posted October 15, 2008 But my friends, and I aren't smart enough to have full blown conversations. "Whats up blank, how you been?" "Good blank, really good. Did you here about blank, doing that blank thing near the park the other day?" MUTED. Link to comment
Daze Posted October 15, 2008 Content Count: 6741 Joined: 06/10/08 Status: Offline Share Posted October 15, 2008 to me, that would constitute having a conversion during game. fair enough if you want to say "hey glitcher asshole, fuck off" but dont talk to your friend in game, if this is on a escape server, there's garaunteed to be 20 people who are getting a headache and will just privately mute both you and your friend for having a in game convo. we have a vent channel with 50 slots, more than enough...if you want to talk to your friend invite him on and chat on there. Please take the whole arguement of Vent out of this because I hate Vent with a passion. So 'people' as you call them will mute me and my friend for a simple statement thats not even 30 words long? I don't want to have an 2 hour chat with my friends, I'd like to keep them in the loop as I call it on what happen 5 minutes ago, and I don't believe that I have to be in Ventrilo to tell him something so short and simple. Red Posted October 15, 2008 Content Count: 6559 Joined: 03/14/07 Status: Offline Share Posted October 15, 2008 (edited) I hate Vent with a passion. That's not our problem. Sorry, but please don't turn this into flame bait, it's already heading that way. Keep conversations on servers down to a minimum, that's all. We're not going to instate an allowable words per minute rule as that would be just fucking retarded. We'll leave it to the discretion of admins. Edited October 15, 2008 by Red Link to comment

Are admins allowed to mute at anytime for no reason? Link to comment
