Weird Steam Issue

Ok I am having a really weird issue with Steam. I booted up my computer this morning and when I open Steam all the text is missing. I have rebooted and reinstalled steam and still have the issue.

Haha! I think an upgrade to the program failed. But I know my computer recieved a windows update last night, I haven't checked my steam to see if its like yours but its also possible that windows messed it up.

 

Edit....nope now I think daZe got it...it makes much more sence that a font file got moved or deleted.

But I even uninstalled Steam and downloaded and installed again.

Check your fonts folder for Tahoma and Verdana. Those are the ones steam uses primarly.

I have those fonts. I had not changed anything with my computer. This is just weird.

I've been having the same problem except my text is super, super small.

 

Like, in the community tab, if I view , let's say someone's stats for HL2 Ep2, "0.2" Hours goes to (even smaller than) "0.2 Hours."

This is the response I got from Steam:

90% of all my text displayed on the steam community are itsy-bitsy.

 

I don't know why, it started a week ago.

 

I have a screenshot of an example.

Thank you for contacting Steam Support.

 

Please exit Steam, then go to the C:\Program Files\Steam directory (this is the default with a Steam installation - if you set a different installation directory, you will need to browse to it), and delete all of the files except for:

 

Steam.exe

 

And the folder:

 

\SteamApps\

 

Restart your computer and test the issue.

 

Please let us know if you have further questions or concerns.
