I've been editing with it for a bit now and it's pretty good. Now if you want something free and don't wanna get it in any risky way or purchasable way then I would suggest Davinci Resolve since I used to use that before premiere. Link to comment

aelius Posted October 31, 2020 Content Count: 113 Joined: 06/03/19 Status: Offline Share Posted October 31, 2020 Just like to add my two cents because I own both and have used both. Vegas has a steeper learning curve than Premiere, and can take a lot more effort to accomplish the same thing than it would in Premiere, but its not a terribly steep hill to overcome. I found Premiere simpler and worth the higher cost, but I did come from doing all the same work in Vegas, so it could be a bit of bias either way. Plus, Premiere comes with a nice set of presets along with addons from Adobe Stock that you should get some credit for for free with a non-student account. One thing to keep in mind with Premiere is a bunch of techniques and effects that could be 100% feasible to add in Premiere are locked out and put into After Effects, because Adobe would much rather you pay for two products than one. There are some common effects in YouTube videos that are super simple in After Effects, but require plugins or hours of tediousness to do. Vegas takes the upper hand here as it has some of these After Effects options or more accessible plugins than Premiere would. Plus, when you purchase Vegas you should get a pretty kick-ass audio editor alongside it. Just my thoughts. 2 Link to comment
