Well in csgo it stretches the player models making it easier to shoot @Trazzcause he’s already obese.

it’s all preference on what res you want to use cause some people don’t like it and besides higher fps on lower res that’s the only good trait about it

It both is and is not preference.

While the hitbox will technically be the same for all resolutions, there are visual advantages and disadvantages of each.

In 4:3, player models will typically appear about 30px wider than in 16:9 making it visually easier to see a player, and 4:3 makes less to focus on the screen at one time.

In 16:9, your FOV is "wider" so you can see more at once. Since most pros play in 4:3 there have been incidents where us viewing in 16:9 makes the pros look stupid  when someone shows up in our FOV, but not theirs. Ex:

something like 85% of the pros play 4:3 because they're all older than dirt and originated from CS/CSS days where you were playing on some shitbox 4:3 monitor with a 1998 stock keyboard. Anyone that isn't from the days of dial-up and 15 pound monitors should probably stick to 16:9 as you're likely much more used to it and you get better FOV.
