I'll put some relevant information here, it's probably gonna be boring.

Hypnic jerks, or sleep starts, are involuntary muscle contractions and movements that may occur while falling asleep or already asleep. Hypnic jerks fall under the category of myoclonus. Something from this category you may all recognize is a hiccup.  It is a brief and jerky movement classified based on where it happened and why it happened. Researchers are currently unsure why this happens, but they think that the jerks are caused by misfires in the nerves at the reticular brainstem. Some causes may be caffeine consumption before sleeping, excessive evening exercise, sleep deprivation, and anxiety. Sleep starts are not dangerous, though they may be a mild annoyance, waking up at 3 am because you felt like you were falling. smh my head. Luckily, there are ways to prevent this, and a large one is lowering caffeine consumption throughout the day. If you consume less caffeine throughout the day, you will be "tired enough" to get a healthy amount of sleep. The second way is exercising throughout the day. Simple enough, you use energy stored in your body, you become tired, you sleep.

Well, that's all I feel like typing for today, rest easy.

I usually get these when I drink coffee after like 10pm and it happens when I start to fall asleep. Though I'm not as sensitive to caffeine as I used to be, I can drink upwards to 500mg of caffeine per day and be asleep by 12am. I might take a tolerance break from caffeine tho.

Do yall have while normally sleeping or in a dream? The only time this has ever happened to me is when I had a dream that I jumped off a skyscraper and fell to the ground, I legit felt like I was falling. I guess I'm just better 😈
