  9. Potshot nailed it here. There is alot of stuff that isn't being brought to your eyes because its not really needed to be public knowledge. You guys are definatly freaking out over something you know little about.

  14. Offical Thread on this: http://www.steam-gamers.net/forum/showthread.php?t=15653 Form to fill out to participate: http://www.steam-gamers.net/forum/misc.php?do=form&fid=10
  15. Alright the idea I've come up for maybe a little community bracket pool is using our forms (like the appeal and player complaint forms). I can build a form for people to fill out and post into a thread. The easy way to do this is round by round. We take 1 round at a time and tally up who has the biggest score at the end. I possibly could make a form that would encompass the entire bracket but I'm afraid it might be too confusing for people to fill out. I'd say typical bracket scoring...1 pt each for first and second round picks, 4 pts for sweet 16, 8 pts for elite 8, 16 points for final 4 and 32 points for winner. In the event of ties, we'd go to the final score of the final game. This should work out nicely, I am still open for suggestions as for being last minute to create this, I will get this done sometime this evening and new posts for first round picks will be closed before the start of the first game. I think the 64/65 pick game is tomorrow, I probably will not include that as the "start" but have them together against what ever 1st seeded team they'd face.
  16. If I remember right thats how team limiting works. There can only be so many players over 1 team. There might be more spawns for CT, we just don't have it when we run a full server.
  17. LOL...with them not winning their conference I'd say its pretty hard for them to do so this year.
  18. Don't they announce them this sunday? If the casino is still active I wonder if I can set up a betting thing for it.
  19. Oh I totally agree, I'd find it more plausable that we end up in contact with self-replicating machines instead of anything organic. Mainly due to the vast distances of space the nearest star would take hundresds of years for our fastest space craft to reach.
  20. Its more for inteligent life...life that we can communicate with, not just humaniods.
  21. HAPPY BIRTHDAY!!!!! DO THE BIRTHDAY DANCE!!!!!
  22. http://www.cnn.com/2009/TECH/space/03/06/nasa.kepler.launch.planets/index.html Kepler Telescope launched last week. This telescope's main mission is to look for exosolar planets. These planets are orbiting far off stars and are able to be detected as the planet makes a transit, passes infront of the star, and the size and distance from the star is determined by the "wobble" created when the transit occurs. We will not find life from a telescope, but we could find the best potential star systems that could be inhabitable. To put it in perspective when Voyager 1 took a picture of Earth from where it was about 10 Billion miles away, all you could see is a "pale blue dot". Even with our Hubble telescope Pluto is only 4 pixels wide. So we won't be able to photograph exoplanets but we'll know they are there.
