  1. Yeah that makes a world of difference. I may change the help to force people to go to their own profiles and copy the bit after /id/.
  2. I'd assume that you don't have a custom url set up? You are the first anomaly that I've found where it works.
  3. I have added the Xbox and PS stuff. Not sure how to add the MC stuff as its kinda like blizzard where there are no user profiles. EDIT: I have found a glitch in how Steam handles its shit. If you put in the 64 bit number it probably won't work as it wants to use a different url that redirects to the custom url one which does currently work for our system. I'll need to think about how to fix this.
  4. Your invite was sent 2 hours ago. Its not an instantaneous thing. Someone actually has to send it to you. As you are new one thing you'll need to learn around here is patience. We have lives too.
  5. I didn't need the logos lol @frosty hooked me up.
  6. I've begun installing this feature to display on post bits. I've only got the 3 so far. I need someone to show me what an xbox, ps4 and nintendo profile link looks like so I can do those. I'm not sure how the Minecraft is going to look/work yet so I'll comeback around. To add these to your post bits, go here: https://www.steam-gamers.net/forum/profile.php?do=editprofile
  7. I have installed this. To edit yours go to: https://www.steam-gamers.net/forum/profile.php?do=editprofile Remember for Steam, you'll need to add either your custom url name or the 64bit number so it links correctly. Ideally the custom url name.
  8. Its a different world than it used to be. Back in the day, you couldn't hide behind a screen name when you try to bully someone. Back in the day you could confront the person saying that shit. Social media has also changed the game. Small things get turned into big things by going "viral". I get what both of you are saying, however, the examples you give are minor examples that sometimes escalate further into shit that just isn't necessary or cool. That's where we've drawn the line. No one wants to be around a toxic environment and we do not want to breed or harbor that kind of stuff. Things just go to far and is too personal sometimes and we definitely want to put a stop to it before it goes to a place where we have regrets.
  9. With the latest public perm bans being issued we felt it is necessary to talk about why they were permed and why we have an issue with what had gone down. First let's get a little back story out of the way, the 3 people we have permed over this situation were the center of a huge drama filled bitch fest where the board had to get involved because personal information was beginning to be put out there. This instance is what had created the no giving out personal information rule. Everyone involved was banned for longer than normal times with the warning to end this. A perm ban was brought up for discussion but was decided not to in hopes they learned a lesson. Fast forward to today where we learned that it still has not ended and has escalated to where it is no longer acceptable. Each side created a steam group to further bully and divulge personal information. The steam groups in question have been reported to steam and hopefully they will not be around anymore. However, we've noticed that several members and admins are in one of these groups. That deeply troubles us. All we can assume is you support this kind of behavior and maybe participated actively. This has us questioning your character and your standing in this community. While being a part of these groups can dive into a gray area as to what is allowed here at SG, if we find out that you are actively participating in these sorts of groups, you will be permed - regardless of rank. We encourage all of our admins / players to actually view the groups they are a part of, as it looks extremely unprofessional to be a part of these groups. As this gray area was previously mentioned - the Board of Directors still have the full privilege to demote, ban, and punish in any other way we see fit - and this goes to ALL users at SG. We wholly condemn the events that have transpired and we will punish anyone who engages in any form of bullying or doxxing. That kind of activity has no place in this community and we will protect our members against this senseless bullshit drama. On a side note, there are currently several trials going on throughout the country to finally make a stand against anyone who uses any form of social media to bully or tell people to kill themselves. I suspect once a precedent is set we will see more law enforcement agencies target people who engage in the activities we've seen from this steam group.
  10. SB++

The problems we've been seeing isn't with the software and an intermittent host issue. Upgrading will not improve the lag as our database is so large it's a lot of information to cache and what not. Got to keep in mind we got 10+ years of bans to keep track ;-) Sent from my SAMSUNG-SM-G900A using Tapatalk
  11. A selective one I guess lol

  12. Problem is that we get into this cycle of replacing a bad population server with another bad population server. We cannot add another server to the box we are pushing the limits of it as it is on high usage hours. I'm not in favor of re-adding/replacing a game mode we have already deemed not suitable for our community. I'm all for doing a MTG or an event server for these kinds of servers. I feel that they are probably the best way to do it.
  13. Its true....I found two gray hairs in my beard recently can add graying to that ;-)

  14. That's essentially the plugin did that got us fucked. It's unfortunate but honestly we just need to all send the complaints to valve. We are no longer going to risk our status for their bullshit. Sent from my SAMSUNG-SM-G900A using Tapatalk
  15. Pretty much because of what happened we won't be adding anything that modifies gun, knife and glove skins. Valve is too protective of them and it's not worth the hassle. Sent from my SAMSUNG-SM-G900A using Tapatalk
  16. I've thought about this for a while and talking it out forum accounts really have nothing sensitive. For management end of things where we do have sensitive things we have extra measures in place. If we were to do it, it probably wouldn't be a mandatory thing. 17. They used to be the same and we separated them because of all the opinionated bullshit people spouted out about political stories. Basically the politics section is a section that you can go into at your own warning where your opinion could be shat upon (within forum rules) so don't be butt hurt if it does. 18. I'll be around the next two nights around Midnight if anyone is interested in doing the Pathfinder RPG stuff to setup character sheets and whatnot or if anyone wants to get familiar with Hero Quest. Just hit me up.
  19. Had a few people ask me about what all this Extra Life is all about: https://www.steam-gamers.net/forum/showthread.php?t=72729 Basically all year I am doing a fundraiser for Children's Hosptials. I did this last year for one day and managed to raise over $400. The idea behind this year is that I'll do more events to hope to raise more money. I do have goal rewards as seen in the thread linked above. We are pretty close to the next goal, I'll probably be adding something else to this goal as well so you'll want to be around this weekend to be apart of it!
  20. I think someone tried to add me on steam but I fucked up a hit ignore. Sorry about that, let me know via forum pm if that was you and I'll send you one. Sent from my SAMSUNG-SM-G900A using Tapatalk
  21. Hey all, As part of my Extra Life 2017 campaign occasionally I'll do stream days to help me hit my goal of $1000! This weekend is going to be one of those days. This one is going to have a theme to it. RPG Board Games! This will mostly focus on Tabletop Simulator so if you want to participate you'll need to get yourself a copy. Its currently on sale on Bundle Stars for $10: https://www.bundlestars.com/en/game/tabletop-simulator One thing that we've been playing lately has been Hero Quest. I've built a few quests myself we can do a few different ones with some new people. I also have been putting together a Pathfinder quest table, so I can do that as well. If @Caution, @Leon Mordecai, @Insidious and @shoiep want to run through one of my own Hero Quest maps I got 2 really challenging ones, one called Horde and the other is Maze. We'll run with your characters that we've already been running as they are leveled enough to get through it. They are a bit long, probably take 2 hours to do one of them. So if you 4 can slot some time this weekend I think you'd enjoy it as well as others. If you are interested in doing the Pathfinder RPG, we'll need to get together and build your character sheets early so we don't have so much downtime waiting to get set up. The quest I got should be around 3 hours long. Would be helpful if you are familiar with Pathfinder (3.5 DnD) but its not necessary, I can get most anyone setup if they have a loose understanding of how it works. If you want to give Hero Quest a try, I can start a group really easily. Just need 4 per group. First map takes about 30 minutes or so, 2nd one I believe took the others about 90 minutes. So if you can find 4 people we can schedule you in. If I can squeeze it in, I'd like to give Zombicide a try. Its a DLC from Tabletop, I own it so you won't need it. That can fit 6 people. Maybe at the ends of the day we can do a few hands of poker or blackjack. And if things get real boring, I can run some Jackbox 3 stuff. At the moment I am looking to start around Noon on Saturday ET. So if you guys want to participate just post in here or hit me up on steam and we'll start planning. I'll have a schedule out when I can, probably Friday night sometime.
  22. I approve this as the image we use.

  24. First off this has never been about how much we pull in. Everything we pull in gets turned around and put back in the community. Second if we were to start taking credit card payments we'd have to also deal with processing fees of around 2.5% per transaction. Third charge backs would end up costing us money. We've always used paypal because it is super simple for us to use and if someone tries to charge us back paypal helps us sort it out and it not cost us anything if we do everything right on our end. Sorry that you don't trust paypal but that's why we have the skin donation system. Could have put that prepaid into steam wallet bought a few skins and done it that way. 25. Right now the way things are setup, when you join you become a moderated user, this helps us with spam and restricts some areas they can see, nothing too crazy but it helps us deal with griefers and trolls easier. After 10 posts, the moderated user becomes registered user. This is a vbulletin default usergroup which we cannot delete. So we put it to use. Once a person has been around for 30 days and makes 50 posts, they become a regular. So the distinction between users colors is very small and really not that necessary as in the long run we view those users listed above as the same. I don't think its a good thing for us to make different levels of regular. Kinda why we have the Honorable Gamer group. The reason I don't want to put different levels in is because the only methods of dictating this is either by post count or by time registered. I think we know what the post count would mean. And honestly if I were to do it, it would be by time registered and it would be pretty significant, meaning, you get your "promotion" at a year.
